Datsyuk just soccer headed the puck in off his own rebound for a goal in his first game for CSKA Absolutely amazing

    Captaincy

I will be happy with either Zetterberg or Datsyuk as Captain but it will probably be Zetterberg - C Datsyuk - A Kronwall - A Filppula - A (if rotating)

Any NHL'ers from your home town?

Josh Georges went to high school with my wife here in Kelowna,Duncan Kieth grew up just south of here in Penticton and now many many many players live here including Dany Heatley, Brent Seabrook, Carey Price, Shea Weber, and Jerome Iginla. Chris Osgood and Ken Holland both live in Vernon just north of Kelowna.

Thoughts on the current forward lineup

I would go with this line up to start the season.... Nyquist - Datsyuk - Brunner Filppula - Zetterberg - Franzen Bertuzzi - Helm - Samuelsson Cleary - Abdelkader - Tootoo Extras : Miller and Mursak LTIR : Eaves Waived : Emmerton Kronwall - Smith Ericsson - Kindl Quincey - White Extra Lashoff or Colaiacovo (if signed) Howard Gustavsson

Would Visnovsky bring value to Detroit?

Id love to get Visnosky. He had a near Norris season in 2010-11. Even at 36 he still has a lot to offer.

    Franzen Trade Bait? Possibly!

I think that Franzen 29 Goals, 27 Assists (56 points) +23 @ $3.9M cap hit is a good deal. Wouldnt trade him unless we were getting an absolute stud of a D man back in return. I still think Franzen will score 40+ goals soon.

RUMOR: Wings have made an offer to Carlo Colaiacovo

I wouldnt mind having him at all, as long as he can stay healthy. Kronwall, Smith Ericsson, White Quincey, Colaiacovo Kindl

    12-13 Biggest Surprise

I predict that Nyquist and Brunner both hit 15-20 goals and Jurco gets a call up for at least 4 or 5 games.

Hockey News sees us finishing 7th

Agree 100% I think the Wings are going to surprise a lot of people this year.

    Our current forwards.

I dont mind the look of our Forwards at all...I have a lot of faith in Nyquist and Brunner. Franzen - Datsyuk - Brunner Filppula- Zetterberg - Nyquist Bertuzzi - Helm - Samuelsson Cleary - Abdelkader - Tootoo 13th/14th/15th -Mursak/Emmerton/Miller (someone needs to be traded) Eaves - LTIR I really like that lineup.

    Keith Yandle to be Traded?

I would do Franzen for Yandle straight up in a heart beat. This would be a great move by Kenny considering we have so much depth in forward prospects Nyquist, Jurco, Jarnkrok, Pulkkinen, Tvrdon, Tatar, Frk, Sheahan, Andersson, Athanasiou

    Smith Leads Charge

I am also expecting a monster season from Smith. I think he should be paired with Kronwall in the event that we do not acquire a big time D man. Kronwall -Smith Quincey - White Ericsson - Kindl its a young and inexperienced D corps, but I am feeling optimistic that they can be a solid group as long as we do not run into any injury issues.

How bad are we if our roster is now finalized?

In the event that we actually head into next season with the roster we currently have, I think we will be fine. I have a feeling that Nyquist and Smith are going to step in and have monster rookie seasons. I would start the season with these lines: Nyquist - Datsyuk - Franzen Filppula - Zetterberg - Brunner Bertuzzi - Helm - Samuelsson Cleary - Abdelkader - Tootoo ex.Miller/Emmerton/Eaves/Mursak Kronwall - Smith Quincey - White Ericsson - Kindl Howard Gustavsson I think that is a good enough line up to make the playoffs as long as they stay healthy. If we start running into the usual injury issues, that could be a major problem. But I like to be optimistic.

    The Next Move

I would definitely love to get Yandle, but if we cant I would go for Bouwmeester or Enstrom. I would do a Cleary + Mursak for Bouwmeester. But no way I would ever include Nyquist.

    The Next Move

I actually wouldnt mind getting Bouwmeester out of Calgary as long as it didnt cost us that much. I think that J-Bo could find his game here much like Campbell did in Florida. I realize that he is over payed but it is only short term (2 more years) and we are in a financial spot that we could eat that cap hit and still add other players.

Matt Carle signs with Tampa Bay: 6-years, $33-million

    Yandle is a must.

    We Need to Trade

    Yandle is now a must.
  21. As much as I would love to get both Parise (Im not too sure we will) and Suter (I am optimistic) , I would not mind us picking up Semin and Carle if we needed to. I feel that both could fit very well into this line up. Semin playing with Datsyuk was scary good at the World Championships and I feel that Carle would be an upgrade over Stuart. Then the next task would be finding a Dman to replace Lidstrom through trade which will be easier said than done. I think it would be in our best interest to land Suter and not have to worry about finding D through trade.

Red Wings Sign Jordin Tootoo to 3-yr deal, $1.9M/yr

I for one, absolutely love this signing. He will bring a physical presence to that the Wings have needed for a while.
