How bad are we if our roster is now finalized?
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to a topic in General
I wouldn't be completely opposed to signing O'Donnell, but my first choice would be Jim Vandermeer. Same kind of shut down defenseman, just younger. 1 year, $1 mil. -
1-year deal. Financial terms not immediately released. Good to see the 2-time Stanley Cup Champ stick around. He'll likely play the majority of the season centering the 4th line, barring injuries.

St. Louis Trades B.J. Crombeen to Tampa Bay

Thanks. Sorry about that. Sounds like the Blues were a little jammed with wingers. Also, it appears Ryan Reaves will get full time 4th line duty now. -
1-year, $700,000 deal, per TSN. Good faceoff/PK guy and a veteran presence for the Rangers.

signed Red Wings Sign Jordin Tootoo to 3-yr deal, $1.9M/yr
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Tim.D's topic in General
He' such an awful hockey player, yet he scored 30 points in 77 games last year. Why don't we compare his production to a few of our bottom 6ers: Cory Emmerton: 10 points in 71 games Justin Abdelkader: 22 points in 81 games Drew Miller: 25 points in 80 games Still look like a terrible hockey player? He's got some offensive touch and he'll add that element of grit that we haven't seen in a while. Tootoo was a healthy scratch in the playoffs because they had acquired Paul Gaustad and Brandon Yip before the playoffs, giving them depth at forward. It is so funny that people hate Jordin Tootoo because of his past. Yet, we loved Chris Chelios, who wasn't the cleanest player before he came here. Bertuzzi threw a pretty big cheapshot, yet we seem cool with him here. Just because people don't agree wholeheartedly with your stance on Tootoo doesn't mean the fanbase has a "Low IQ". As I've shown, Tootoo outproduced many players on this team last year, and should be a welcome addition to the team, considering he also has a pair of balls. He texted me earlier and mentioned that everyone's negative opinions on LGW were bothering him. He proceeded to ask me what my opinion was. Told me Tootoo's future rested with my opinion of him. Guys, he isn't going anywhere. Blame me if you don't like him. -
Wings are gonna be a bigger/tougher team
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to Datsyerberger's topic in General
If Dallas lets him become a UFA, we should definitely go after him. -
1-year deal worth $600,000. Can't believe he got a contract. Likely a response to many other teams in the East getting tougher. Buffalo has 7 defensemen, so he'll likely serve as a 13th forward.

Nice educated guess. -
1-year deal worth $675,000. Played well in the playoffs last year. Good deal for the 'Yotes.

Any educated guesses on how many games he'll play with Buffalo? I don't know what their entire depth chart looks like right now. However, I know Cody McCormick is ahead of him. -

3rd string water boy. Sure, it's good on the short term. You can't tell me these contracts aren't gonna come back to haunt them, though. -

The Ever-Increasing Cap, Ridiculous Contracts, and Hitting
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to zenway9's topic in General
Same here. There wouldn't be nearly as many guys throwing elbows high and going knee on knee if they had to worry about getting their asses kicked on the next shift. Don't wanna turn this into an enforcer/instigator debate, though. -

Kickass tribute video. Can't believe it has been 2 years already. I'd like to get a Wings Probert jersey sometime soon to add to the closet RIP Probie.

There are still a few enforcers left in free agency, but we've got too many bottom 6 players as it is. Jay Rosehill comes to mind.
