Patrick Kane, out anywhere from a month to rest of the season
puckloo39 replied to Jersey Wing's topic in General
Barely touched Kane, but if you're not strong on your skates, that happens... I didn't consider it a "nasty" hit. Seen much much worse done to Wings, and no call, no nothing. The no-discipline decision tells that tale here. So, you play hockey and you get hurt sometimes. He fell awkwardly, unfortunately. Hate to see any player hurt, but I didn't see anything that awful about what Petrovic did... or barely did, in this case. -
Big Gus is first star of this game

I would suggest that someone run up to the press box, kidnap Ozzie and suit him up. Now!
-
a shot on goal might be a good start, eh?
-
it's going just as planned. Sigh.

I love the late game starts, since I usually miss part of the first - or have to drive like a fool to get home in time - for the eastern time starts. I don't mind staying up late. I just hope the Wings stay awake for 60 minutes tonight. It's not like their road trip is going to get easier. The Ducks game was very winnable. Thanks for the GDT, Mikey!!!

Wings played a great game, and did everything they could for the first 40. Second period was excellent, third.. not so much. We get Monster tomorrow night. Block those shots and finish it in regulation, boyz. You know you can't win a shoot out.

slow this down, and get back to business, Wings. The Curse of Emu Salami on the jumbotron need not de-rail this very very good effort.

Glendening is the new Maltby/Draper. Love this kid...

I was wondering today who would step up and how the Wings would deal with Hank being out. I know now, they are supporting each other beautifully - and Datsyuk is an amazing, amazing player. LGRW!!
-
I am actually OK with Z being held out tonight, under the circumstances. Ducks would target his head, just because they are like that. LA and Sharks, I think would be less likely to target him. Better to let him sit out this game... Now, Nashville... well, I would hate to miss seeing Hank when I am at the game, but his head has already seen its share of bashing there. this cannot possibly come as a surprise to anyone... right? Open season on Red Wings' noggins!!

No, but you're the only one who can spell his name.

there is another one tomorrow night, Mikey!! Back to back... ack!

Zetterberg leaves after 2nd Period; "upper body injury"
puckloo39 replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
http://www.wingingitinmotown.com/2015/2/23/8089385/morning-skate-red-wings-at-ducks No Z or Pookie... What's with the Benn family trying to kill the Wings, anyway? Pasha, Tatar, and Helm are the listed top line, in Z's absence. -

I suspect they are sitting Hank as a precaution and he will be back shortly. Don't need any Ducks taking shots at his head tonight, too. -

So, back on topic: Zetterberg not yet ruled completely out for tomorrow, but apparently Benn faces no disciplinary action (per MLive), see the news feed on this site. NHL.com site has an article http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=754428&navid=nhl:topheads praising Benn as growing into his role as captain. Aside from a few homers, the comments support the fact that Benn is guilty of cheap-shotting Z, at best. Open season on Red Wings' heads continues in the NHL. Ho hum... -

Benn should lose the "C" - he's no leader. Z is a leader and true Captain. -

In this case, I guess we have to remember that in 1999, Lindy Ruff was the coach of the team victimized by the worst no-goal call in the history of modern hockey, so he may be a little sensitive. -

Benn should be suspended for at least 5 games. He's the 'example' and leader as Stars' Captain. Zetterberg is a CAPTAIN and acts like it. In my opinion, Benn should lose the "C" on his sweater for this. But it's the NHL, and only my opinion. So that won't happen. Hope Z is OK, and we can move on, for sure. It's OK. I knew what you meant. I expect most here did. Z is more 'valuable' in terms of heart and leadership, not that Mule isn't great to have on the ice, if and when he's able. -

Welcome to the "World of Being a Delusional Dallas Star Fan" Like many things in this state, I make no claim on them... I just live here. Let's Go, Red Wings!! -

Malik summed it up for me: "The Detroit Red Wings' 7-6 win over the Dallas Stars was wild, woolly, insanely bipolar and completely, totally unnecessary should the Wings have even marginally showed up mentally." -

Frightening, isn't it? I am ashamed to say I laughed out loud when they showed this poor woman on the FSD feed. OK, no, not really... -

Hopeful that Z's upper body is not his head (technically part of one's upper body), i.e. a concussion, from when Benn elbowed him in the noggin. Get better quick, Hank.
