I missed this trip, was supposed to be there, but expenses and airlines interfered. Wings are at a different hotel this time -- no room at the Hilton Inn next door to the arena, maybe because of dads/family traveling with them and remodeling at the hotel. Second episode about 1000x better than the first one. I still laugh at the producers creating drama over which team is worse, along with the dramatic, sad music... like a piano solo at funeral. Very dirge-like indeed. Best scene was Kronner and the kids... and the Leafs steak dinner where they played credit card roulette.

I am oddly excited about this game... like, a preview, sort of. Wings win, dig deep boyz!! DeKe returning is the best news in a while. Now, get Hank back and we're cookin' again...

Toot alors!! I think his energy can only be a good thing. I know he's very happy right now, and will play his butt off to stay up with the Wings. I have more muscle than some of these guys. Boy, do I ever miss Mac. I have said for years that all I want is a player out there - like Mac - who makes the other team look over their shoulders as they leave the ice. They didn't pull crap on the goalies and other players on the Wings roster when there was some sort of pay back coming. Shanny, Lilja, even Fischer would use their size and strength to lay down the law. Toots isn't Mac, but at least he was willing to try to defend his team mates.

I'm afraid I agree... but hope the next episode is much better. Watching Carlyle complain about healthy food options and trying to electrocute himself on a weird looking toaster? Not so much. More interviews with actual players = not Weiss. Whoever got the idea that Weiss playing against the Panthers -- which we saw more of than the Wings in this episode -- was a big deal??? Non-story. I will say the coverage was even-handed regarding which team has been worse this season, the Wings or the Leafs. The other 24/7s have been much better productions. Hopefully, this will get better, much like our current luck on the ice.

I fully expect a bounce-back game tonight. They can do this, just need a little bit of luck, and some confidence out there. They're the Red Wings. It will happen... believe! Hope Abby is not gone for too long, and that Helm and Z are back very soon. Really miss them both out there, and getting Danny D back will be like an acquisition of the best kind. Not great, and I had really looked forward to this. Tater Tots reading the roster was cute, and the shot of Bert swilling bad Mexican cerveza was a slightly interesting moment. Because it's HBO, they say f*** a lot, along with variations of epithets inclusive of that censored word. Perhaps the negative tone (re: both teams) was part of the 'drama' angle? I found it depressing, basically. Otherwise, I hate Phaneuf. But Joffrey Lupul is fun to look at. I am like others here in that I can only wish for this show with some of our former players. It would have been epic!
