Should have been an easy two points. Mule was the best player out there. That in and of itself says a lot, and it is not good.

I've said before we won't see Z until next year... after the Winter Classic. Sucks for those with tickets... I guess.

I dreamed last night that Jimmy quit. Retired, left, what have you. I hope that's not some sort of weird omen, and rather just me feeling sorry for him right now. If Monster has a bad game, it will be him under the bus, I will just wait. And go check the news feed to make sure I wasn't projecting. Wings win, goals from Mule, Tater and Aflie. Yay!!

they all start too early if you work and live in Central Time zone, unless the Wings are in Cali or western Canada.

Leap? Maybe a small hop and skip. I care about where you go and what you do, of course, and do love hearing from you. The person below me doesn't send Christmas letters...

Keep avatar or at least the guy in it. Keep your signature or change it?

Excellent job on the GDT, Paulie! I think the Wings will win this one, because you did such fine work. The babies will step up and Mule will decide he now the Captain, with Z and D off the ice. Just kidding, I believe this will be Alfie's game to show what a captain does when the team is stressed. I have faith in my men wearing the winged wheel!!

Hope Darren's boo-boo doesn't cause him to lose those hands he found while he was gone for a season. My Red Wings theme song: "I Want You Back" That goes for all of them.

I know exactly what you're talking about, I saw it on a broadcast the other day. I wish I knew where to tell you to check, but if I find it, I will post the info here. You're sweet to want to do this for your dad.

I think it pretty much has to be a decapitation with a samurai sword where the officials get splashed with blood to get any reaction from the league, if it's a Red Wing who is hurt. For most other situations, yes, Schenn would be in the box and/or at least lose a game. We're just fortunate that Abby got up after the hit.

No Vinny for the Flyers, huh? OK, then. I think our guys will adjust to no Z and D, sad as this makes me feel. They have to. I have a theory that Mule plays better if he has a challenge and more ice time. Without Pasha in the line up, he got more TOI and suddenly started producing. With Z out now, too, I expect lazy sucky Mule to get nothing less than a hat trick, all three unassisted. Do it, or I throw my shoe at you. Hear me? Go WINGS!!!!

Suffice it to say, this news ruined my day. Get better soon, Hank. -
I don't think I am particularly good at anything, other than my job. I doubt my boss would agree with me, even about that. The person below me sometimes wishes they were someone else.

I do my own toes... always in "Al the Octopus" purple. Seems indulgent to me, to have someone else do that, but I know a lot of people like it. I'm not one of them. candles or incense?

GDT 12/1 GDT: Red Wings 4 at Senators 2, Alfredsson scores ENG

Alfie completely understood the few boo's he heard. He is such a great guy and the epitome of what I think an elite NHL hockey player is all about. Very happy he's a Red Wing!! http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/10066205/a-perfect-return-alfredsson "Alfie, Alfie, Alfie," the crowd chanted while a pre-game video showed his many moments in a Senators uniform. "That video was pretty cool to watch," said star Wings blue-liner Nicklas Kronwall. "It was emotional for us, imagine how he felt.'' Almost overwhelmed is how he felt. "It's hard to describe," said Alfredsson. "How do you feel you deserve to be cheered on like that after all you do is play hockey? It's kind of surreal at times to have that feeling. But it's a mutual feeling. I definitely respect this city, this team, as well. I thought once the puck dropped, the crowd also did the right thing by cheering on their team." And booing him later in the game on a few occasions. "That's good," said Alfredsson. "They should stick up for their team, and that's what they're doing." -

Nothing but love for Alfie in Ottawa. Even when he scored, they can't hate him, ever. Good on the fans for realizing what a treasure he was and what he did for their franchise. -

More than happy with this game. First goal against would have been intent to blow, if it had been the Wings scoring, and I saw the second one coming. Gus was superb, again, and should have gotten a game star for setting up Alfie's EN goal. I just wanted them to win for him, and the Wings did it. So proud! Go, Wings!!! -

4:30PM Central, good luck with finding broadcast. They do not have NHL Network here. -

Happy birthday to Tomas - he's 23 today. Hope you get a hattie tonight, Tater! -

Please, Wings, show up for this game and for Alfie. I am so tired of seeing the Wings allow the opposition to walk all over a former player, in a game that has meaning for that player - it's almost become a rite of passage. Please don't let me (and Alfie) down, boys. Just win. Thank you!! -
There's really no comparison between Weber purposefully slamming Z's head into the glass --and then laughing and joking about it with team mates later, for the cameras to catch -- and other less intentional injuries inflicted during the heat of a game, as with the head shot to Datsyuk. Much as I hate that Pasha is injured, I don't believe Cowen's act was as intentional. He might be pleased after the fact that he got away with it, but I am not sure he's smart enough to plan that action out as a way to remove Datsyuk from the ice. Weber didn't 'deserve' a puck to the face, of course, as retribution for his low-class action toward our Captain. It deserved punishment from the league, needless to say, and didn't speak well of Weber's character. Does Shanahan skew his judgments, or lack thereof, when a Wing is the victim? Why, yes, it does appear that way. Disappointing.

no opinion, I don't have kids. I would tend toward the 2-year-olds, though. Teenagers know better and could control themselves if they wanted to. Babs' stink-eye glare or Torts' screaming fit behind the bench?

Nope, no TG dinner here, although I always looked forward to the leftovers when I do get dinner - turkey sammiches with cranberry sauce. The person below me strives for normalcy.

Just want to say I never stopped supporting Jimmy (and thought the team let him down more often than not), and I love Gus equally, he's really stepped up and is looking great - just what we needed. Another "sexy tandem" in goal. Jimmy is like most great Wings' goalies - he does his job more than capably and often doesn't get the credit he truly deserves. He was great in this game!! I am happy to see this team gel and players getting into the groove. It is a real pleasure to see them working together, able to stand out as the amazing players they are - like Helm, OMG!! - and still support each other. When Pasha and Bert come back, it's only going to get better. That's Red Wing hockey at its finest. Can't wait for Sunday! Go Alfie! Go Red Wings!!! ** welcome to the forum, Andrew Hasek. I like your name, of course.
