Howard made two quiet little game-saving stops there. He looks fine tonight and the Wings are doing their part limiting chances. that would be my assumption, that Jimmy is still #1, Nabs is back-up, or more like 1A/1B. I would see a split. Nabby's a very good goalie, he's played for teams which dragged him down to where he had nothing left. The Wings won't do that to him. He will shine here. This thread is racing right along in GF. Does that mean it's not a rumor? I hope it's true. Love me a Euro-goalie, you know?

Nabby's not a great goalie, there aren't really any in the NHL right now that hit that standard (elite, legendary, etc. do not really apply to any I can think of). However, he's a great guy, and would thrive with a team like the (healthy) Red Wings in front of him. We could absolutely do worse. He'd fit our system well, character-wise, also. I know him best from San Jose and he flat out carried them, a lot. Kipper left because the Sharks were so dependent on Nabby, he never got ice time. As for Ozzie, this sounds suspiciously like retirement to me. Guess we will see...

I think Howard is back too soon, probably, but what choice does he have, really? The team looked so slow and uninspired in front of Joey Mac. Maybe they will have some better energy tonight to welcome Jimmy back. When everyone is back, it will all be good again. For right now, stay alive, give it all you've got under the circumstances, and try to win. I think they're in survival mode right now.
