Are Zetterberg, Datsyuk and Holmstrom even in the line up tonight? I haven't heard their names and I sure haven't seen them contribute. Hang in there, Jimmy. This is not on you. You have no team in front of you, and the Oils know it.

You're putting words in my mouth, suggesting that I said the Wings cannot win without ZDH scoring. How can I unconfuse you? I said, basically, with Mule out there the Wings have a better chance than relying on ZDH to score buckets full of goals. Does that help?

He may still be at the Olympics, he didn't rule it out. I hope so, what a story... just to have him on the team would be a huge thing to the Czech athletes. I suspect Dom is more realistic than most about the fact that he will not be first goalie, in any case. No way even Dom could repeat what he did in Nagano, 10 years later. It will be fun to see if he's there, anyway.

I think perhaps he meant "aside from" the first seven minutes of last night. He got misquoted. We don't have an alternative, no Conklin to hold down the fort, although Jimmy did fine last game picking up the pieces and stablizing the game. I don't believe he's happy with his numbers last season, or this one, so far. He said he has to play better, so he will try his best, I am sure.

No. He said it was quite the motivating force, but not the reason he returned to the game. He can still play, and the team was thrilled to have him. But Dom is smart to say now, it's not looking good. It frees up the coach for the Czech team - Rosey (VladimÃr) Ruzicka - to make some decisions early on about goalies. Vokoun will do fine. Too bad, as it would have been quite the story to see Dom back out there. I am sure he's as disappointed as I am.

I think this was more true when Mule was in the line up. They've looked dead out there (or snake-bitten like Bert) until Pavel lit a fire under them last game. I hope he plays. Every game.
