Bingo! All I've heard is excuses this year. It's everyone else's fault from the D to the zamboni driver's, anyone else except the goalie's responsibility. If the offense is able to score one more than whatever number is let in, the Wings will win. They shouldn't have to score goals by the handful in order to win, but luckily, they have that ability if they're on their game. Ozzie apologists aside, I think most realistic people here know that goaltending wins championships. Putting it kindly, we don't have it this season. I hope Ozzie shows up. I really do, since I like to win, but I am not counting on it.

Golf, as we know, is more important than a hockey game, and certainly worth inconveniencing an arena full of people who paid for tickets, and the reigning Stanley Cup champs. I hope all their golf balls go right in the water hazard, until they run out of golf balls.

I think there is merit to your concern. The Wings tend to coast or even swoon a bit in the last half-dozen games when they have the President's Trophy locked up, which is usually the case. Not this season, unless they don't lose again. Knowing them, that could happen, too. If they don't turn it up and get organized in the next few games, I can see them sliding into the post-season.... and just continuing to slide, right out of round one and onto the links. I do hope I am incorrect about this assessment.

^^ actually, the Wings won game 1 (W 3-1) and game 2 (W 4-2) in Nashville last season and lost the next two by only one goal... but you're right about the rest of it. Hope we do as well this post-season.

Hard to say. I never saw Dom fight, actually. He threw equipment and yelled a lot. Who cares if he would have gotten his ass beat? Although some here would have enjoyed that, apparently, his job was to play goal. I think he did that pretty well. He understood the "tradition" of goalies fighting each other in Detroit, so he was at least willing to try...
