Actually, you're not alone in your disdain for one of the greatest to ever play the game. You probably epitomize a lot of Wings fans' opinion of Dom. Most fans tolerated Dom because he came here in 2001 and said he would win this team a Cup. And then he did it. He came back after the team folded in front of poor Cujo, and took them to within a game of the finals for the first time since he left in 2002. This was not a coincidence. His presence last season, aside from winning half the games and the Jennings with Ozzie, was a factor in the Cup win, believe it or not. He wasn't necessarily done with hockey when he left. He said as much. He understood that the team in Detroit was done with him and it was time to go, however. Call Dom whatever you want, but don't call the man stupid. I don't believe Dom has any intention of coming back to Detroit. My avatar is intended as a joke, so you can relax. I agree with what 55Fan says: Dom has nothing to prove to anyone and he should do what he wants with the rest of his life. I wish him every success, even if I am in the minority. I'm pretty accustomed to that by now. Go get 'em, Dom!!

I would love to see that (again). And I believe his performance in Nagano cemented any doubt that Dom was, in fact, the best goalie the world has ever seen. It was stunning to watch... and thrilling. Two Gold Medals and two Stanley Cups. I like it. Come on back, Dom.

With Dom, you never know. He might have an agenda going on (hint: 2012 Olympics?), but with him it could just be boredom. He could probably still play, if he felt like it.
