Osgood/Conklin same as last years Hasek/Osgood
puckloo39 replied to Greatness=PavelDatsyuk's topic in General
It's not worth arguing since I am completely outnumbered here now... but Dom would have been better off seeing more shots, if history is a teacher. The D was bad in front of Hasek in more than one game, including several holiday game stinkers (Thanksgiving and New Years Day, to name a couple, where the entire team didn't show up with the exception of Hasek) and the Anaheim "freak show" penalty parade really stands out, with breakaways, 2-1s and worse. We won't even count the number of goals Hasek had against him off the netting and kicked in by his own players. Hasek only "lost" a handful of games, and he wasn't in it alone. That's all. I am just saying that the focus last season was on Dom's horrific numbers, yet Ozzie's are no better this season. They both won games, despite poor numbers on the scoresheet. If Ozzie doesn't get better (and I suspect he will), they win anyway so it's fine. -

I think there is some selective memory going on around here. What else is new? Hovering around the .800's sv%age, bottom of the league was a crime last year, but it's acceptable this season. The D wasn't good in front of Dom last season on quite a few occasions, but there was no quarter then, and it's forgotten now. He still managed to somehow win half the games on the way to the Cup. The good thing is that the mob mentality here will never be as vicious where Ozzie's concerned as it was in regard to Dom. It wasn't appropriate last season and it's not now, either. If Ozzie doesn't pick it up, I am confident in Conklin. -
I can probably supply the live armadillos. I wish I could have seen the postgame... but thanks for the feed anyway, since the game was yanked off of CI thanks to Bettman TV. At least I got to see it, itty bitty, but nice feed just the same.

cool! And another great game by Conklin.

bad coverage... and now, I am not amused.

"and the Calgary coach is not amused."

oh, poor Stars... I am sorry. I really like Morrow and admired his energy in the playoffs last season. Here's to a speedy and complete recovery for their Captain.

No, but I was so poor after grad school that I moved to my job out of state in a VW bug, and everything I owned fit inside it. The person below me knows how to play the clarinet.
