puck was going the other way, what should they have called? this reminds me of last season when the Wings would decide to wake up and play halfway through the third. Sometimes they even won. They got out of that habit by the end of the season, so maybe it's just going to take a little time. I am sure the home fans would like to see a win, however.

Perhaps it's a tactic. They're losing all their games at home as a way to keep other teams off balance early in the season? Or maybe they miss Zetterburg? OK, Hossa has suck-itis. I am sad to see it, too.

Dubya did good today. The Red Wings looked awesome, nice ceremony all around. I really liked the nice touch the Wings added, giving him a jersey for his dad (with 41) and one for him (43) to designate their tenures as President. Nick said, we got to take our dads with us on the road, and we want you and your dad to watch us win again next season. You could tell the president really enjoyed that. I know the guys had a good time, they were all smiley and enjoying themselves.

Hullie used to tell the kids on his line, never win too big. Don't celebrate, it will come back to bite you, be cool. I think Conklin was just elated by playing so well in his first game as a Wing. Adrenaline, maybe? Anyway, let him enjoy, he will settle in just fine, I think. Great job, he was really on tonight. I am sure the team is grateful for that.

I feel bad for Jagr, too. I know Darby Hendrickson was never the same after Zholtok died in his arms in Latvia during the lockout. I think he retired not too long after that happened.

Reports are out saying that he did collide with Jagr's elbow prior to collapsing and that Jagr was in tears, yelling "wake up, Alexei!!" It is truly heartbreaking that this happened. Hope Jagr is OK, too, even though it was a total accident and freakish, if in fact it had anything to do with the collision. bit more info Poor guys, all of them, who had to witness this. I thought of Sergei Zholtok just now, and how hard it was on his team-mates when he died in Latvia during the lockout. It's a risk they take, to play a game they love -- you simply never know when it's your time.

Oh, my God. He's just a baby. Bless him and his family-- how tragic, that they had no medical assistance and equipment to save him. RIP, this is so sad.

I like Pickles, and don't think he should have been suspended for that. Does anyone else remember the time Cujo (as a Leaf, the first time around) attacked a ref --literally tackled him to the ice? Those were the days. I can't recall if he got suspended or fined, but I suppose he did.
