Hasek arguably stole game two vs. the Preds with 15 saves in the first period alone, but that's all forgotten now. Understood. Several of the goals against were fluke deflections in that series, put in the net by his own team mates. They didn't play well in front of him, and he wasn't able to bail them out. Knee jerk reaction was to yank Hasek. permanently as it turns out. So it goes... Moving forward, it makes no sense to put Dom in, but not because he's incapable or has forgotten how to play. We won't ever know if Dom could have closed out this series or not, so it's not worth discussing, really. Now, after sitting for more than a month, the only reason to put Dom is would be if Ozzie were incapable of playing, ill or injured. Let's all hope that never happens. Some people here are constantly complaining that Ozzie's being disrespected. Show me where that has happened, even once this season. He has been dissed in the past, without a doubt -- but certainly not this season. On the other hand, the disrespect that Hasek has gotten in Detroit in what surely will be his last in the NHL is truly amazing. It seems that someone on the team just has to be the goat. It's always easiest to pick on the goalie.

And Hasek shut them out. Don't worry, Ozzie will be playing the remainder of the games in the playoffs.

I love all the predictions of 4 or 5 goals for the Wings. Wings, please just score more than 1, and one more than the Stars, please. That is all.

The only reason the Wings would go back to Dom is if Ozzie is physically unable to play. I understand the thought process -- replacing the goalie sometimes wakes the team up, etc. But they're wide awake, as far as I can tell. They just didn't play very well and didn't score. That has nothing to do with the goalie. Ozzie's done nothing to suggest that he's the reason the Wings didn't play well the last two games. Just leave well enough alone. I am sure Babs will.

I missed the game, haven't had time to watch DVR'd game, and haven't plowed through 45 pages of posts... but I will go out on a limb and say that any team which only scores 1 goal in a WCF game is likely to lose. I am sure there was a reason for this, hopefully not 2 or 3 waived-off goals this time. Finish them in 6, boyz... should have done it today, but hey... more games, more money for the franchises, I guess. OK, off I go to see what the h*** I am talking about here.

just got called in to work all day. Setting DVR and hoping the Wings destroy the Stars' hopes before the horserace pre-empts the real sporting event. Have fun, ya'll... and GO, RED WINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the Stars must have watched the other two series and knew better than to touch it. Our opponents are getting smarter...

nhl ittybitty recap DALLAS (AP) -Detroit's goal with a guy barely in the crease, if at all, didn't count. Dallas' goal with a guy clearly in the crease did count. Apparently, that's what it takes to slow the mighty Red Wings. Apparently this thing with winning playoff games with a guy in the crease is a tradition with Dallas.

they were awarded the Cup by Bettman and the NHL. They didn't win. No goal.

the three Versus morons can't praise the Stars enough, but do admit the called off goal was indeed a goal. 14 mentions that Dallas FINALLY leads in a game. Not really. It's actually tied. And, they are interviewing yet another Star (Robidas). If I were the Wings, I wouldn't talk to them either....

I am so disappointed in the NHL (refs) right now. This is not right at all. Wings will come back, despite the idiotic tactics of the Stars' refs.
