Ellis with 42 saves not even halfway through the 4rd... I say we get to at least 50 SOG (and 1 goal to show for it) in this game.
-
I like that they were in around the net that shift, anyway... that's something.
-
true, he's kept all but one (beauty of a) shot out. Now, let's talk about the Wings and why none of these bajillions of shots go in...
-
the Wings have been busy playing defense tonight, but that hasn't changed the ratio of shots to goals much, if at all. Shut the door, Ozzie...
-
the Wings are going to wear their arms out...
-
aim?
-
I am ashamed to admit, I laughed out loud when they failed on that 2-1. Ellis is grinning from ear to ear.
-
I agree...he's not that good, but the Wings are making him look like he is.
-
Lilja wasn't coughing up the puck in the last game either, that duty was left to others. Fortunately, as Homer just said, they decided to do something about that tonight. Better late than never.
-
We're lucky to have 1 goal. What is the deal here? Can't we be sharp on D and O... or can we only do one thing at a time? D is there, with only 10 SOG for the Preds, but the offense... Ozzie, be sharp if you ever do see another puck. You have your "lead" for this game, I think.

come on... somebody. Almost, so close, deflection (the wrong direction), just wide, missed the net, hit the goalie's crest... no goals, though.
-
nice avatar. :octo: shots 31 to 10. I'd say the Red Wings' defense showed up tonight. yay. So, we have 1 goal on 31 shots. Is this good? Ellis for Vezina

ooh, a chance, almost, maybe...
-
thank your lucky stars if you have a feed other than Versus. Announcers are teaching a lesson on how to play hockey, featuring the Predators. In the Wings' barn. Which may say a lot about what the Wings are not doing correctly...
-
OK, Cleary isn't doing my bidding, here. Now, Mule, get busy and score!
-
it missed the net. But it sure looked good, didn't it?
-
Bettman's behind it, I hear. This is Bettman's brother, Davey Bettman, whom the family hides away from the rest of the world. Bettman finds the flinging of his brother's lookalike disrespectful and therefore is punishing the Wings. Seriously, what are they thinking trying to stop a 56 year old tradition in the NHL? Especially one that isn't hurting anyone (except the octopus, of course). Maybe it's a new PETA thing?

Flip with the opening goal, a beauty. Otherwise, nothing out of the ordinary so far.
-
agreed. I am not worried about them reverting to the behavior we saw the last two games. They look like a different team tonight, except for all the "almost, " "so close!" and missed net opportunities. THAT looks all too familiar. And maddening.
-
Wings need to get in front of the net to take advantage of the rebounds. That could be part of the "luck" he's experiencing.
-
Maybe this is their attempt to slow the game down, as people have been suggesting lately. Don't let the Preds get any momentum. I don't like that trend of laying back after one goal or one goal lead... but at least the D showed up and the offense is (or was) going to the net. Perhaps consistency isn't just a problem for one player, maybe it's all of them... let's see what they do in the 2nd before we draw conclusions. What do you think?
-
you mean... he can't?
-
he wasn't the one who failed to whistle on the Needawhiner "goal" was he?
-
hahaha!! you were almost right!
