Any mention of Dom right now (well, any time, pretty much) is open season for the bashers. Not your fault. I will say this for Dom. He doesn't know how to lose "just a little bit." He either wins, or loses spectacularly. No middle ground for the Dom.

Not around here, it's always about the goalie. The fact that the team played like my local CHL team hasn't really been addressed. I guess they are trying to keep mum and not dwell on the defensive lapses and lack of offense, so the players don't get distracted. Hence, the focus and goathorns on Hasek. They will correct their non-participation in these games, starting tonight. Better late than never.

Nice post. Very few will listen or agree here. Dom's scrawny, but he's tough. Let 'em pile on, he can handle it. As for his skills disappearing, that's not the issue at all as you say. It's Detroit. Two games where the entire team was rattled = Hasek is the reason. I can't blame Babs for doing what he has to do, he has no other choice, really. Ozzie will do fine. The team is on board and knows they have to play better. If they go to the net instead of pasting easy-to-see pucks on Ellis, they will be fine and the offense will magically reappear. They've already said that they know the D was part of the reason for the lapsesand goals scored in Game 3-4, and they they know they have to play better, too. Or, one could just take the simpler route and blame Hasek. That seems to be working for most. Whatever it takes, just win.

You're correct about all of this, of course. And I will be the last one to give up on Dom. I was just following the party line, woohoo! Ozzie's team now, not Hasek's. And I was being slightly sarcastic toward those who don't have a clue about what you're saying here. I appreciate your sentiments, and echo them all. Bravo!

Isn't it funny? I read Sharp as being the typical pundit who thinks Hasek is nuts and that this will send him off to a padded room somewhere. There's really no evidence for that, but people seem to think that a lot. Babcock made a move to win a series, believing Osgood represents the better chance of beating the gritty but undermanned Predators. But he's deluding himself if he believes benching Hasek can restore his psyche and performance to the high level the Wings need to achieve the only goal that matters in this organization -- winning the Stanley Cup. He probably has lost Hasek for good with this decision. Yep, Dom's a prima donna and nut case. Oh, wait, no he isn't... the whole article is a celebration of Hasek's departure. Where does he blast Ozzie?? He's a jerk, if so. I'll go re-read it, again.

I think we can safely assume that Hasek is done. The local pundits and most fans are dancing on his grave in Detroit. Drew Sharp Wojo Both writers assume that the Wings will go with Ozzie from now on out, and I agree that is what they are going to do, too. Not that it's necessarily the right thing or the wrong thing... but don't expect to see Dom back on the ice for the Wings again. I am sure Dom knows this, too. But he will be ready if needed, I am sure.
