I am not a Sammy basher, actually. But this game is proof that the guys need to either get to the net, or ... aim! 38 shots to 16 and we have a 1 goal lead. Nervousness...
-
"Samuelsson shot stopped." Never heard that one before.
-
Who??
-
this game oughta be, like, 5-1 right now. What the heck???
-
I've looked back through all my pictures and I don't see one that shows Stevie in #19. Perhaps one of our learned colleagues here can tell us?
-
nicer try, Dats!! Yay!!
-
yes, him! Someone photoshop a Red Wings jersey on him, so I can employ Nelson at will when the time is right.
-
and Dats is stoned by Crawford-Sawchuk-GeorgesVezina in the other goal.
-
who's the kid on the Simpsons who goes..."Ha-ha!!" Ozzie!
-
let's just say he looks real happy right now. Ozzie's made a couple of good stops early on. Now they just need to get him a couple of goals.
-
eeee.... creepy!! Poor guy. 1-1, and it oughta be at least 3-1 for us. Let's go Red Wings!!
-
well, they are just beating the crap outta the Hawks, goalie, whoever that is, and can't get one by him. What's the deal?
-
brilliant!
-
Excellent news, and well-deserved. What a story this guy has been. Great move for all concerned, I'd say.

I believe milve over the goalie site. It's gonna be crowded out there, if they both try to fit in the crease at the same time... :goalie1: :goalie2: :goalie1: :goalie2: :goalie1: :goalie2: :goalie1: :goalie2:

From what I can gather, the Wings management evidently agrees with you. That said, there are back-2-backs this weekend and next week, both with travel involved, home and away in both sets of games. I would expect to see Ozzie play a game in one or both of those situations. But who knows?

Daily Dom I am not seeing who is in net for the Wings anywhere yet, E. But I found the article above in detnews.com. Lalime is in net for the ninth game in ten consecutive outings for the Hawks. Want to see something interesting, stat-wise? Hasek: GP 34/MIN 2,008/GAA 2.09/22-8-3/SO 4/GA 70 Ozzie: GP 35/MIN 1,969/GAA 2.10/23-8-3/SO 4/GA 69 We're in good hands, with either goalie. But I know Ozzie's your favorite, so I hope he gets to play for you tonight.
-
great job on your very first GDT! May it bring them luck tonight!! Still lots of injuries to go around for both. Let's see if the secondary scoring shows up or those other guys do -- either way, somebody better show up with some offense. And no going nightie-night in the third again, please, gentlemen? Go, Wings!!
-
never! Groins of steel!! I think Petey needs a visit from that nurse in your avatar, to take care of his groinals.

ahh. Memories... Quote from Dominik Hasek, Game 6 Wings/Avs, 2002: "Measure this, Bob!" j/k Illegal sticks strike me as the most minor of problems, considering the crap that's plaguing the game right now. On another note, however, now would be a good time to try it. The coaches are all too busy dealing with bogus officiating to worry about something like a stick which is illegal.

Interesting lists. I am not a born and bred hockey fan or Red Wings fan -- got there as quick as I could, though. Where I am from they don't know what a puck is, and think Red Wings are shoes. 1. Dominik Hasek. One of a kind, a legend in his own time. No one else will ever come close. 2. Steve Yzerman. Peerless, and forever special... no explanation needed here. 3. Teemu Selanne. A gentleman and a very special player 'til the end, whenever that is. 4. Pavel Datsyuk. Much more to come in his stellar career, but I love any player with so much magic in his soul. He's very, very special, this one. 5. Mike Modano. Another gentleman, thoughtful and loyal, much like Stevie Y, if you know anything about Mo. I have lots more, but these guys are the cream of the crop in my little world.

The fact that Dom's been first in GAA for weeks now hasn't been a particularly big deal to anyone here. It shouldn't be a big deal if he winds up second to Ozzie. That just means they're both good and they're both ours. He cares about wins, stats are gravy at this stage of his career. I am sure the Wings wish they had all had a better third, but the W is what is important.
-
I hope not. So far, I haven't seen that Dom was the problem today. If someone wants to think that... well, OK, then. The third (which I watched first, because I am a mascochist, apparently) was very smully. Wings will do better next game. They missed Homer. Oh, and yay, Stuie, for his first goal as a Wing!

I am glad Lids came back OK. I've been very worried about him, as have we all. Anyone who complains about Hasek in this game is never going to be satisfied with any effort -- can't win good enough to suit some of us, so I won't worry about that. Dom saved the game, stoning Erat with less than two minutes remaining. That's what you need, big saves at the crucial times. I am concerned, as is everyone here, about the team losing focus and losing leads, almost the game, in this case. It does sound like the officiating was a little off, as usual, however. THAT we can b*tch about, right? Hey, we won. Two points.
-
well, yay, I missed this one, but I have it on DVR. Sounds like it should have been no worse than 4-2, except for the usual. Bad bounce and bad officiating. Other than that, how did Lids look first game back? I will go watch now, hope you all had... fun?
