It would be, IF the local cable company decides to carry NHLN. The problem is that local cable providers (like Time Warner, Austin Texas) don't have to offer NHLN, and therefore, they do not. They say that the programming -- what games Center Ice shows -- is up to Center Ice, and has nothing to do with Time Warner [true]. So, many of us who paid full price for Center Ice lost up to 30 games this season, Wings and others, without our consent, and with no recourse. I think all 10 Red Wings fans in Austin -- that has to be about all of us here, right -- are LGW members. So, we are out of luck for an alternative if SOPcast doesn't work, which it usually does not on my home computer. I have resigned myself to missing the Wings games that NHL network pirated from Center Ice without my permission, or anyone elses' who got ripped off. Nice.

good question. When NHLN-CA takes the games from Center Ice, I can still see them in the US. Damned Bettman. I want a refund on all the games I am losing this season. By the way, all of us lucky saps who paid for CI this season will be losing the March 28 game, as well (Wings and Blues again).

that'll be the day. But you're right, of course.

As long as Avery doesn't come back to Detroit, I wish him well where-ever he lands.

ahhh hahahaha! I love this guy! Ovenchicken for President of the NHL!

Dom rarely gets burned on the flying human bowling ball angel of zamboni-like death move. Mostly it works, or he wouldn't keep doing it for oh, say, the past 15 years that I know about -- might have been doing it before that in CZ. I suspect Dom would get beat up just as bad if not worse by fans for standing his ground on a 2-on-0, or 3-on-1, odd man rush ....and the shooter scores, because hedidn't try something. When Dom is out of the crease and czeching a shooter, it's usually because no one else on the team is there to stop the guy -- so Dom does it himself. edit: grammar cracker

Right you are. I was surprised when people made a big deal about it when he (still) does it in Detroit, until I realized they hadn't seen it before. You'd think players would half-expect it, but they always seem shocked, as well. "Hasek-ian" saves are part of most hockey broadcasters' nomenclature. But, no one else (at the moment) uses Dom's patented tackle-check-slide move, so I say name it "The Hasek." I also love the use of "Hasek" as a verb.

hellooooooo, secondary scoring!

me, too. I don't think they can sit on this lead for 10 more minutes. I wonder sometimes if they think PP = Pass-Pass

pretty good, until the entire shift decided to stop playing and start a scrum, allowing a 2-0 on Hasek. Would have been 3-1 without that nonsense. Sabres were not lucky, Wings were stupid... looked like something the Austin Ice Bats would have done. But I expect it from them. Hopefully, they decide to play hard and go get it back.

Lots of us have thought all along that losing Kronwall was a bigger factor in the losing streak than one might think. Smart move to lock this guy up in Detroit... he is showing his worth now that he's back on the ice. Lilja, yay! I love it when he plays the way he knows he can. No brain farts in the 4rd, boys, let's win this one!!

it's OK. Dom's got it.

LOL~ at Downey slapping himself in the face. Smelling salts anyone? ROTFL!!!! DOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

because Derek Roy is not a jerk? j/k, I don't know...
-
aa....an...even... strength.....goal? **thud**
-
It's not that surprising... Rangers Network with no Sabres game, I mean. Games on yahoo, Edi, hurry if you want to watch us fizzle away another 5-3.
-
Is anyone else excited about a 5 on 3? Me neither. Prove me wrong, Wings, don't waste it.
-
Beware of "Zetterbeast" and "Datsizzle" Stolen from another board, but cute. Please score goals tonight, Wings. Thank you!

Dom left Buffalo for the same reason Miller probably will shortly... management's refusal to get the players in front of him, needed to win a Cup. With the cap, they've really got problems doing that in Buffalo. For the most part, Sabres fans understand why Hasek left and appreciate what he did for the franchise. I sure can't blame them if they are unhappy about him leaving, but they do seem to understand why. Such understanding won't stop them from hoping Dom gets shelled, however! ...which he will, if the Wings skate like zombies and don't score again today. Buffalo will be all over Hasek; our guys need to do the same to the Sabres' goalie, and SHOOT THE PUCK! No offense = no win tonight. Just pointing out the obvious....

yahoo live feed for those with no other video option. Click on the little video camera at game time, feed is delayed btw... so this site will "spoil" things for you here, potentially.

I love Jeanerette... and I hope he has nothing to crow about this evening, at all. Utter silence from the HSBC crowd and from Rick would suit me fine. No goal horns for you, Sabres! I wish/hope!

I'm not particularly mad about the hit. It was an accident that Lids got hurt like that. Besides, I don't give Lapierre that much credit -- that he is skillful enough to surgically take out Lidstrom like that. He put a borderline dirty hit on an elite player, caused a disabling injury, and I am sure is very proud of himself that he got away with it... and that it screwed up the Wings happy little ride this season. If I were an Avs fan (do they actually have any??), I would think he was way cool. But since I am not, I don't think it was all that cool.
-
Hasek's supposed to play today. If they boo, I seriously doubt that it will bother Dom. He got over them a long time ago, since he basically traded himself to Detroit. Have fun! The last time I was there wearing a Wings jersey, the Sabres fans couldn't have been cooler... nice crowd, in my experience. Of course, the Sabres beat the crap out of a lack-luster Wings team so I hope history doesn't repeat itself in that way. Go, Wings!! Shoot the puck!!

The bruise Lidstrom said he had on his chin might point to the fact that Lapierre had his arms up too high, but who knows why Lids said that. Lapierre was smart to try and take out our best D man (and key to winning?) in the last Avs/Wings game this season, and before we got Stuart. edit: clarity
