Ozzie saved their butts on a misplayed puck, save on Hemsky edit: I thought Kronner had bad luck with injuries until they told about Ethan Moreau's litany of health problems. Gad. LOL~ "Oh, that's what Dominik looks like!!!" It's been so long.... teehee~

OK, I am sorry about your CI getting swiped, too.
-
the boyz are trying hard. Huddie and Meech, especially.
-
yeah, I thought it was my cable feed, guess not. It's kind of dark. Choppy start. Nice save, Ozzie! Det on the PP

He didn't exactly have an answer, I agree. I also agree with him that Dallas got more dangerous today with Richards. Shame to lose Smith in goal, though. I hope we score a goal or two tonight.

welcome to the forum. I was a Stuart fan when he was with SJ. I am sure I will like him in a Winged Wheel.
-
I am sure Stuart would be willing, if there was a way. Our poor D.
-
He will look good in a Wings' uni. I always liked Stuart. This is an OK move, in my book! edit: additional thought, scoring isn't really our problem when the D is healthy, to spring loose the likes of Z, Dats, and Homer, among others. Bolstering the D is not a bad idea at all, with Lids and Cheli having to shoulder so much of the time ... look what happened without them. I recall Stuart (from San Jose) being afraid of nothing and no one and willing to bang and go to the net. Hopefully, he has retained those characteristics!

Regarding the title of this thread, yes, I've always thought so.
-
I think Dallas will be sorry they traded Mike Smith, but probably had to in order to get Richards. Sorry to see Smitty (and Halpern) gone from the Stars. Did Montreal just get burned, too, in their zeal for Hossa...? we shall see!
-
that sucks for Dallas... sorry to hear this. Get well, Zubie!!
-
No, no... not at all. I just don't want you to be disappointed when we all don't chime in and agree with you when you say the Wings are not the best. They are, you know!
-
You do realize this is a Red Wings fan forum. Right? Good job, Eva. You're right as usual.
-
OK, you made me laugh. I am glad it wasn't anything too devastating, Drake got hit as hard in the mouth last game and no one made a big deal of it. I also agree with the poster who said it will be more fun to see Pronger come back and make a fool of himself again (a la the Stevie Y hit where Pronger ended his own season, go Stevie!!) than to see him gone for the season.
-
You didn't. That's the whole point.
-
Understood, Lou. The reaction was still ridiculous, IMO. Regardless of the circumstances, Canucks acted like they beat the actual Red Wings, not a team with a rookie goalie in net and no defense in front of him. We won't talk about the offense -- it's just too offensive (pun intended). Of course, Wings fans will probably be just as crass when/if the team gets totally healthy again and stops losing games. We are in the midst of an epic losing trend ourselves. Dallas is only 6 points behind us. Better times are inevitable, though. So, let's all hone those over-the-top, unwarranted, in-your-face celebrations, for when the Red Wings stomp some devastated team in the near future!

Not an expert on hockey GMs here, since my take on them is based on the teams I am most familiar with, Detroit, Dallas, and Buffalo. They don't come any classier than Ken Holland and Darcy Regier. Bob Gainey (formerly GM in Dallas) was an awesome guy, too. Burke doesn't come to mind when I make comparisons with these men. He's on the very far end of the spectrum of "classy guy." But, he does fit the mold in Anaheim (or perhaps he created it), so I guess that's great. He's a whiner and an opportunistic jerk most of the time, even when he turns out to be 'right' and his manuevering results in victory for his team. Just like his team. Leadership is top down, so there you have it. If all one cares about is the win, then Burke's the guy you want. Just be sure and step out of the way when things don't work out for him. He will go all Bobby-Knight on you!
-
that we know of. I don't recall the last time I've seen Detroit this beat up. Watching Vancouver celebrate beating the Red Griffins last night made me laugh. But they got the 2 points and we didn't, even if I did think they were stupid for being so proud about it.
-
It was only the fans on each end of the arena... the rest of the crowd didn't even know who Howie is, so they had to be able to read the name on the jersey to do their oh-so-appropriate razz-chant. It is a fact that the true veteran defensemen being out injured has destroyed the effectiveness of the scoring line, since there is no one there to spring them loose anymore. Our lack of offense is apparently tied to the lack of defense. Scary. Edmonton may suck, but we suck more right now... and no one in sight returning for weeks except maybe Kronner.
-
ahhh.... at least it wasn't a shutout?
-
atta boy, Howie! Canucks are trying to run up the score (rat bastages that they are) and Jimmy said NO!
-
In this case, it makes the Vancouver fans look like crass idiots. Normally, the crowd razzes a goalie when he is bad and deserves it -- not when he's an AHL backup and is doing all he can with half a team in front of him. Howard is the only reason the score isn't worse. Vancouver fans suck. JMO. ** sorry, little bit of Mother Bear coming out there, protective of Jimmy in this disaster of a game. Poor kid.
-
Lils has actually been good tonight. There isn't going to be one healthy player by the time we get the top guys back.
-
They need to get another goal for Howie... and someone needs to shut the stupid fans up in Vancouver who are doing the Howard chant. Do they have no idea he's been amazing tonight, despite being 23 years old, with no D and zero offense from team? Guess not.
-
dang it. 3-1 Canucks I love the fireworks and hysteria in Vancouver. Yay. It's not like you beat the actual Red Wings. And the classy, classy fans are razzing Howard. Perfect.
