LOL~ Seven PPs for the Wings... no need to boo, Canuck fans. It's not like you have a reason to be worried that we will score.
-
Referees: Eric Furlatt, Rob Martell Linesmen: Don Henderson, Shane Heyer
-
Meech was everywhere that shift!
-
keep flinging the rubber at the net, Michi. Luongo can thank his post for that save.
-
shocking. Not. Bad call = goal for Canucks. I hate the Sedins so much. Not as much as I do the refs, however.
-
similar to Leeel-yah.
-
that's exactly the thought I had... *sigh*
-
5-3, and I doubt that we will score. What's wrong with this picture?
-
Dats and Zata are like the Sedins, reportedly, because they always know where the other one is. They are unlike the Sedins, in that Z and Dats are not creepy.
-
Lebda, you owe Howie a steak dinner. He just saved you from yourself.
-
get another one, Michi!! Dats got credit for the first one, originally credited to Meech. I love that announcer who says "Leeel-yah" for Lilja. And Howie stones a Sedin. Yay!
-
Kitty? Michi - pronounced Meechie - means kitty (as in here, kitty, kitty) in Spanish. Does that mean Meech will have to put up with cat-calls when he plays? I am just pleased that we are not going to get shut out tonight. I'll take what I can get right now with the Wings so beat up.
-
Now Homer and Zata need to go score goals, too!
-
unless you're a Red Wing. Then no.
-
you again?? Howie's not the problem. We've got so many right now, he's way down on the list.
-
uh oh... deflected goal (off Eriksson's skate), Canucks up 1-0. That could be the game winner, if the Wings scorers don't show some life tonight.
-
Jimmy Howard says "no" to a Sedin sister. Luongo, great save on SOG #5 for the game. Oh, dear... we need to score at least one goal this game, please?
-
at least the CBC announcers recognize non-calls, even if they can't say Flipluula, or whatever they said. Is Meech OK?
-
Canucks fans all booo'ing in anticipation of the tripping call that should have been called, when the Nuck tripped Flip. Oops, no call. Never mind.
-
life is easy for Luongo tonight. 4 SOG for the Wings so far, to 10 for the Nucks.
-
Howie, woo!! Careful, kiddo!! But great job!
-
good, it will take the focus off of Homer, and maybe he will score us a goal. Naslund off for tripping Mule.
-
I love Aaron Downey. Howie's playing well, great job so far.

I... think you may be right about this. Couple that with the lack of offense when it's really needed, we could have a problem in pretty much any series where the other team is physical and even borderline dirty - never mind blatantly dirty like the Ducks. I don't know if the Wings are the softest in the league. However, if you combine our usual, preferred skill game (vs. hitting) with some bad officiating and no scoring, and it's a pretty simple equation leading to a loss. The lack of scoring when it counts really scares me more. I know the Wings have a couple of 5 and 6 goal games, but we've been shut out or won/lost by a goal more often this season quite a few time this season. I know the Wings love to shoot 50 billion shots from the perimeter, but so does the rest of the league. Announcers marvel at the dozens of blocked shots by the other team when the Wings play. Um, duh? All they have to do is watch tapes, and know that throwing bodies in the shooting lanes when the Wings are out there is just the ticket. And then they do it. No goals for us. I miss Shanny, Mac etc., too. But I miss even more seeing a power play that I "knew" would result in a timely, devastating goal against. Remember that? These days, when I see this team go down by two (or sometimesjust one), I know they've done, despite what their goalie is doing for them. Hoping for a wakeup call soon, or maybe a new face or two at the deadline.

If you turn off the audio on the game feed, you won't have to hear that at all, Ducks. Otherwise... Hope the Wings fans in Vancouver who spent their Christmas money (and all their other spare cash) on tickets to this game to see the Red Wings get a great effort from the Wings who are still able to play. Considering the situation, I think the Wings and the GR guys who played last night did a fantastic job (except for the offense). Another solid effort like the one last night vs. the Flames will be good enough to beat the 'Nucks. Cheli. I hope it's not too serious. We got some sucky luck with this injury bug. Z and Dats... please get down to business and score at least a goal or two for Jimmy. Limp forward, brave Red Wings!!
