seriously, this is news?
-
aren't these announcers unreal??? It's almost as good as Pronger's "physics" explanation when he tried to murder Homer.
-
Haven't you heard? Dom planned all of this. What people don't understand here is that the last place Hasek wants to be when his team is down is off the ice. But I know people don't get that about him, so it's OK. I predict that if the wings are unable to score a goal, we will not win this one.
-
I want the Flames to die now. Did you see the hit on Kopay when he was down? I hope Babs rips somebody's head off!!
-
anyone who stones that creepy Nolan is my hero.
-
poor Ozzie... hang in there, buddy!!

Homer gets the box for tapping Phaneuf... "lack of control, accidentally on purpose" according to the Flamers' announcers. My God, they're disgusting. They whine about Homer "whining" about the call... Homer was probably pointing out that Phaneuf (sadly) still has all his teeth, unlike Homer's teammate Drake.
-
Don't worry about it, Edi. Our D will all be back soon... and their D will still be their D.
-
I don't have the DVR going, but what I saw was Drake wheeling around behind the net, a Flame had a stick up trying to hold Drake, and the stick blade popped up and caught Drake right in the mouth. I saw him drop his stick and grab his face, still skating toward the bench. The camera shot went off him then... But I saw him get hit in the mouth. Much amusement from the Flames announcers, saying the Wings were unhappy, but the Flames... not so much.
-
or... anybody?? I don't care who. I can't stand Phaneuf.
-
Flames announcers found it amusing, too. Perhaps the Wings will come back out and score one goal per tooth, to make up for it?
-
I thought I saw the stick up in Drake's face, behind the net. Now they say he got his teeth knocked out. No call, Flames are laughing. Come back out and destroy them, Wings... or at least try your best!!
-
I forget between meetings how many guys I don't like on the Flames bench. Flames are not playing all that well, thankfully. Except for Kipper. He's been OK so far. Darn.
-
want us to type slower, RS?
-
true in any game. Thank the post it isn't 2-0 right now.
-
poor Kopay... oh well, kill it, Wings!!
-
shoot. 1-0 Flames. Assist to Lebda, sorry, Ozzie... And Cheli's gone again. Hoo-boy....
-
Downey's a hoot, strutting around out there. Love him!!
-
he got hit in the back of the leg by a shot, he wasn't looking and it stung him. Cheli's back, but he isn't OK... he's just trying to hold it together right now, because he has to.
-
you're kidding me. Not Cheli, too.

Another Swede would be nice. I love Sundin. Mats Sundin has no Stanley Cup on his resume, despite his stellar career. Perhaps he would take a cut to get to play with the Wings, following in Dom and Luc's footsteps and get his name on a Cup before he hangs 'em up. Hull did the same -- at least he got his name on Cup which was won legitimately. I think there would be a huge upside to Sudden in Detroit. Maybe not at the expense of mortgaging our future, however. just wonder if he to win badly enough to take the risk of taking less money for a better chance a shiny silver Stanley Cup? Lord knows he won't win one in TO.

great idea!

possibly...

enough already, leave the goalies alone Ray Slover from The Sporting News thinks unstable franchises, rotten TV coverage and the price of beer are all more of a problem to the game of hockey than goalies. He gets a tad sarcastic about it all. I think one reason goaltenders' equipment is more protective now than, say 30 years ago, has to do with the fact that the skaters/shooters now are huge, incredibly strong guys, compared to the hockey players of that era. Players now are bigger, stronger and they have better equipment. I don't see the problem with protecting the goalies or at least giving them a fighting chance with equipment that has kept pace with the tools provided to the skaters. I for one don't really care to see games with scores that look like basketball games instead of hockey games. A timely, well-executed goal is a thing of beauty, and usually well-earned, if the player is skilled enough to get it past your typical "top notch" NHL goaltender. I think game after game of seeing the goalies get shelled every night would actually get stale pretty quick. The tough part is the subjectiveness of who decides which goalie's equipment is over the line in terms of size, if that is the opinion at issue. Maybe we should regulate the height and weight of the goalies, so they're all the same height and weight.
