oh dear... Freddie Modin scores. 0-2 and my Center Ice just died. I think I am OK with that, actually.
-
Quincey and Downey are trying to get something going, and Dats is playing well. Other than that everyone looks a little hungover tonight. I think they're going to pick it up momentarily, though.
-
where's OsGod? His boy, Rick Nash, just scored on a lazy rebound to Ozzie's left. Oy...
-
Dats off for tripping. 5 on 3. so far, zero SOG on either end.
-
well, we're in good company, Tomi. Each others... that wasn't too swift there, Downey. CBJ on the PP...
-
Dats is pretty to watch. Detroit PP.

It's Friday night, T. Maybe everyone else has something better to do? I know I don't.
-
Start Howard vs. Colorado. Why not? Stars are going to play tough on Sunday, I think Ozzie's going to have his hands full on Sunday. Stars know the Wings are banged up and they're probably not happy about Dom's SO on Jan 5. Dom out until sometime next week I don't expect to see Dominik back until Calgary or Vancouver.

I can't disagree with any of your points. You're right.

It might just be a rumor, but it's got legs in Detroit media. Every online sports page in today's Detroit Wings' news has the possible trade as a headline. Here's one: Kulfan on Feds' return <<Chelios doesn't think Fedorov would mind a return to Detroit. "I know he loves Detroit," Chelios said. "His family is still here. I'm sure it would be an option (when Fedorov becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer). "He has a lot of friends (in Detroit). He gets back here as much as he can. I know he likes Detroit a lot." Detroit fans haven't returned the love. Fedorov has been a target of fans who felt jilted when he left as a free agent. "That doesn't matter," Chelios said. "They'll welcome him back with open arms. He's going to be a favorite if he ever comes back here.">> Don't be surprised. Kenny likes known quantities in his players, and he's done OK so far with recycling them, IMO. ** goes to get Fedorov jersey out of mothballs**

Maybe the Wings can stash Feds in the trunk of a car on Friday, and bring him home with them? I want Feds back, needless to say.
-
this? There would be few boo's from the crowd at the Joe (and none from me) if Sergei returned for cheap and lit a fire under our anemic offense. I am so tired of the requisite 2-goals-for per game limit the Wings have adopted the past month or so, despite 40+ SOG. It's nice to fling a lot of rubber at the other goalie and it's kind of the Wings to pad opposing goalies' stats -- but, you know... accuracy has a lot going for it, I hear.
-
You have been good, OsGod. Wonders truly never cease. I don't understand the hate for a Wings player, even if it is Dom... but I guess it happens. I like them all. Even Lilja.
-
so would I, come to think of it.

I can picture a "Shanny-esque" performance from Feds if he came back to Detroit at the trade deadline. I've always considered Feds to be perhaps the greatest underachiever ever to play in the NHL - which is to say, when he's motivated and on his game, few can match him. If coming back to hockey-mecca doesn't light his fire (and in turn, have him lighting the lamp), I cannot imagine what would. I would hate to lose Kopecky for the bargain, but for the right price (and for stupid sentimental reasons), I would love to see Fedorov in a Wings jersey again.
-
very cool! I want a Stars jersey with Zubov's name in Russian characters. Haven't been able to find one, though.
-
harold, the voice of reason. Like I said earlier, I hope Howard is taking notes. That way, he will know exactly what he's in for here.
-
having had little chance to see Howard in action, I thought he did very well last night. The Preds didn't have a lot of chances on him, a lot of shots missed or were blocked and sent over the top of the net, etc... but he made some good saves when needed. That's about all you can ask, when the D is struggling. I hope we get to see Jimmy again this season. How about Friday?
-
Really? Who's leading the league in GAA now? Some nights the defense gets the blame, some nights the goalie does. Some say GAA is a product of defense -- but strangely, for other goalies, it's all about the goalie. Depends on who's out there in net, and whose opinion you share. Wings were not ready to play at all vs the Preds. Jimmy Howard was the only one excited enough to actually put forth an effort. If the Wings don't have a change of attitude by Friday, they will get another dose of the same medicine. This nonsense about not being able to show up against division rivals... well, I guess it's good the Cup finals will be vs. a team from the other conference.
-
you're fine, Duckie, not to worry.
-
the really great news? Wings play Nashville four more times before the end of the season.
-
winner! We love you, Duckie! Better game next outing, Wings. This one was a disaster, at least on your usual terms. They will get it together, I have faith.
-
I hear they play paintball games and go bowling. Seriously, this is a slump. That's all. They will figure it out, and I bet they do better v. Columbus. Just think how bad it would have been if the past few games had been against good teams?
-
well, they dug themselves too big a hole in the first eight minutes of this game. You can't recover from a 3 goal deficit when your offense can only produce 2 goals per game.
-
I think he's been really good, lots of shots missed or didn't get through, but the ones which did, he was there.
