thus far tonight, I'd say the last thing Dom feels is lucky.
-
LOL @ Mickey... "oh, broken stick, Wild... and no penalty!" Sarcastic much?
-
right, scrapping and face-washing will win us this game. Wow...
-
I SAID don't waste it, dammit! Three dump ins and one whole SOG, PP half gone. Good grief.
-
4 minutes. Malts bleeds for the Wings. Now, don't waste it, Wings... PP
-
Demitra, with no one in a Wings sweater in sight. Wings D is less than stellar tonight, to say the least. Can't say much more about the offense at the moment. Malts trying to see if his nose is bleeding from the elbow to his noggin. 2 minutes?
-
yep. *waiting for the bashers to show up*
-
I am beginning to think the Wings don't want to win this one. Dom's doing all he can with what he has to work with.
-
feed is messing up on CI, too. Ick. Wings outshot 13-8. Wings with 6 minutes of penalties, 2 possibly deserved. Score 1-1 They will do better in the 2nd
-
wonderful penalty on Hank.
-
talk to Cheli. He directed the puck in...
-
another penalty on the Wings, they need to settle down. Why, thank you, Meech. That one's on you. 1-1
-
there's the break(down) we needed. 1-0 Wings, courtesy of Mule!
-
Hasek is saving their butts right now. Backstrom with two saves on soft perimeter shots. It's early yet, I guess (12:00 rem. in the 1st)
-
shots 4 - 0, Wings with no shots.

...and in quite a few games, Ozzie's faced very few, thanks to that same D. In games where the Wings slept the first 40, Dom has kept them in it (and won the game) despite the low shot counts most nights. So has Ozzie. They've both had games with only 2 or 3 shots in a period, and both seen games where the D was off and the goalie had to save 12-15 SOG in one stanza. Dom's been great as the season progresses. I know some folks are still fixated on Ozzie's hot start this season when Dom was laid up, but fair is fair. It's not as uneven in terms of actual goal potential as the numbers alone might indicate... fewer shots don't necessarily translate into fewer quality chances and saves. It's going to be up to Dom, though, I suspect. The Wings will do whatever he decided, barring an obvious issue with injury or health concern of some sort. I have every confidence that Dom will do what's best for the team, in the end. That said, I wouldn't mind if he did retire next season, if that's what he wants.
-
Yeah, I know. I still say it will be all Ozzie's fault if Dom comes back. Ozzie's made it too much fun for Dom to pass up another go-round in Detroit. Dom will tell us when he decides, whatever it is he's decided, yes?
-
be nice, OsGod! That's my man you're talking about. If Dom comes back, it will be entirely Ozzie's fault. Dom is crazy about Ozzie, it's been such a fun season for them working together, why wouldn't Dom want to come back? It must be very hard for truly great players to walk away, if they believe they can still play. We will see what Dom does at the end of the season. His standard response when asked is: "I will tell you when the season is over, not before." All kidding aside, if the Wings win the Cup, I doubt Dom will return. He will have more than silenced anyone who ever doubted him as a legend, even without another Cup.

for those who thought this game looked like playoff hockey, none other than Henrick Zetterberg agrees with you: Windsor Star game story "It's good for us mentally to get these kinds of games," Zetterberg said. "Often this is how teams will play against us in the first round of the playoffs. It's a good test for us to have these kind of games."
-
Z. Yay! That only took 34 SOG. Wings have now tied their lowest shots allowed at 11.
-
Jadub for Vezina Whichever team finally manages to get a goal wins this game. 23 shots and nothing to show for it?
-
great job, Duckie!! Wings win, lotsa goals!! Avs, I hope get less than one goal. I will miss at least half of this game, rats. DVR is set, though. Ya'll cheer extra for me, OK? GO, WINGS, GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

loved JP as a Sabre, but I am OK with him not coming to Detroit.
-
really poor decision on Antropov's part. But what player in the NHL hasn't wanted to do that, on more than one occasion?
