Zhitnik... there's a name I haven't heard in a loooong time. Sebastian, we will hopefully say "goal!" soon, and often. Stay tuned.
-
game on! Let's go, Wings!!
-
I think everyone gets along with Ozzie, what's not to like? Funny, self-deprecating, knows who he is, accepts everyone as they are. The rest of the goalies in Hasek's past assignments were pretty clearly Dom's back-up, and not his partner. That's what Ozzie is, in my opinion: not a back up, but a partner in crime, as they rob the rest of the NHL of points. I love that they say they learn things from each other, even at this point in their careers. It's a mutual admiration society, apparently. I give Ozzie all the credit for extending his hand early on in their relationship, and Dom credit for relaxing and realizing he doesn't have to do everything here, just do his best. It's an ideal situation, if you ask me.

you! YOU!!! No pickin' on my goalie. He actually is one of those who looks better with the helmet than without, I think.
-
Ahem... a lot of us are attracted to players' intelligence and power/skills, besides the looks. But we do like to look. Ya'll are SO mean to Pavel. I think he's cute. Did you ever notice that some guys look better with a helmet on, than without? It's true!
-
true, but "beauty" is in the eye of the beholder. I am not all about the looks. Yikes, I forgot about Kasparaitus... on purpose maybe. Truly frightening, that guy. Wow.
-
neither, thanks!
-
I don't think we need either one of them, Mac. I said, if we simply must have another Swede, I would prefer Sundin. Petey can't even skate for more than 2 minutes without saying his ankle hurts, and he can't play. Sorry, but I can see another Hatcher or Bertuzzi, fragile-type player there. And he will want too much money. betcha.
-
chin up, there, Edi. Close game, Atlanta with the jump, but Wings win anyway, 5-4.
-
we don't need him. Gimme Sundin, if we must have another Swede, but no Petey, please.
-
wow, it's too early in the morning to even mull over the possibilities, but Brind'amour gets my vote for the moment. Heatley's not exactly improving with age, I must say. eek. All the Red Wings are good-looking, IMO. Something about the winged wheel has that effect on them, I think.
-
So the Flames have three goalies now? uh oh... j/k... good for Curtis, lucky Flames. He'll do fine in Calgary and hopefully complete his NHL career on a happy note.
-
I hate to see any player hurt. Dany wasn't doing anything that any player doesn't try at times, and it ended badly for him. Get better soon, Heater... your Sens need you. Wonder who's going to the ASG instead of Heater now for the EC? ASG EC roster

your post is dead on. The Wings were just ... dead. I said after the mess with the Wild on Thursday, that they would surely come out swinging v.s the Sens. I was wrong. So I will say now that they will come out hard v. the Thrash. Third time's hopefully the charm on that prediction. Dom kept them (and himself) from posting a total embarrassment last night. Welcome to the forum, come by more often, wings_fanatic! For those who want to read up on the oppositions' take: Ottawa press is happy, but not overly so, about the win. They credit the Wings with their own demise, for providing screens on Hasek and taking penalties which resulted in goals. ottawaaah sun game story otttawahhh citizen game story Ottawa media on the Wings and Sens "Wings D Nicklas Lidstrom doesn't pull your eyes out with his speed like Scott Niedermayer does, or rile the emotions in the manner of Chris Pronger, his annual rivals for the Norris Trophy. He just does everything so well." They have other takes on Wings and Sens that are very astute and mostly complimentary.
-
just a little aside: did anyone hear if Draper the birthday bandit got Kronner today with the traditional shaving cream "pie"?
-
I'm just glad they didn't get shut out again. If they had even played half the game, instead of just the 10-12 minutes, they would have probably won. Oh, well.
-
wish everyone thought like you do.
-
I don't blame them for not being ready, but do wonder what goes on in their heads. The Wings knew this one was big, hyped, important, call it whatever you want. And they looked terrible aside from Nick, Dom and flashes of a couple of other guys. Guess we will write the last two games off to the Z flu, or something.
-
aw, thanks, HC! I wish they could have won it, but you can't play 10 minutes against a team like the Sens. I am just sorry Dom collected yet another "L" -- people don't seem to remember when they fling the goalies' W-L-O figures out there as evidence one way or the other, that the team was also involved.
-
did you watch the end of the Pitt/Atlanta game, shoot out? Crazy! Sid who? Lehtonen for Vezina . I think I'd worry more about the Thrash than San Jose in the next couple of weeks.
-
Well, I wish they had shown up for 60 minutes instead of 12.5 minutes of the 3rd, but they didn't. Oh, well. No real harm done, nobody on our team got hurt, and we're still sitting pretty. The Sens had help from the refs, but they also outplayed the Wings. So credit where it's due.
-
be careful out there, and have one (or two) for me!
-
It won't again. They looked so un-Winglike the first two periods, just got the jump back a little too late. Sadly, Dom takes it in the shorts yet again. Loser. I love the Sens, except for tonight. And in the playoffs, if they meet up with us.
-
you forgot to add the sarcasm icon. That goal was a given when Nick took the penalty.
