they've also "given" him the Anaheim penalty fest, Turkey Day game where they didn't show up, and lots of shoot outs. I hope he said thank you. no problem, Dats. I hope they show it. Is there some delay on the live game, guys? No broadcast on yahoo yet.

go to www.yahoo.com Pick Sports on the homepage (tot the left) Click on NHL, pick scores and schedules at the bottom of the box with the Wings/Kings data, there's a little video camera icon, that says "watch live" It's not on yet... which is odd since it's past 6:30PM here. It usually works great, but the screen is little. Better than nothing.

Join me on yahoo live feed, I guess. At least we have that tonight, or NHL radio...

    Simon gets 30 games

you think? I never thought of Drake as being capable of a Simon-type incident. I've never been a big fan of his. I just remember him constantly diving and whining to the refs, angling for a penalty call when he played for STL. Drake and Kasparaitis -- that's my lasting image of both of them... sprawled out on the ice, looking at the ref for a call. I hoped to see better from Drake in his current go-round with the Wings, and have, so far. Hope he keeps up the high standard of behavior here.

there's no reason for you to go for the throat as you put it, just tone down the sarcasm. It's uncalled for, and it makes you less credible. This (above post) is the most reasonable you've been in a while, and I appreciate it. Of course, I know Dom hasn't done well earlier in the season. I know that. He was injured and played anyway, and he shouldn't have. The fact that Ozzie has worked his butt off and improved his game is admirable and I am very grateful to have him, as I always have been. What I disagree with is the slamming, personally and professionally, of Hasek because he got a rough start. I don't mean you, 007 -- there are plenty who are far less reasonable about their opinions. Yes, I am a fan of the Dom, so are a lot of people. We react to the constand dismissive attitudes toward a player whom we all know can and will contribute to this team. We can continue this in PM's if you like, but know that I respect your opinions. I would like to know what you would do with Dom in terms of game time, which would be any different than what Babcock is doing? All the decisions about who's in goal thus far have been reasonable, and make sense if you look at schedules, track-records, all the factors. That is what I assume the coaches and staff are taking into consideration. Not playing Hasek as a favor to him, but because they believe it's the right thing to do?

    Simon gets 30 games

I didn't realize this is his seventh suspension. It ought to perhaps be his last. I can't imagine any sort of counselling or therapy is going to help him much. The damage inflicted was not the issue, the intent to injure is the issue - just luck that it wasn't much worse. I can't imagine any Red Wing (now, anyway) even entertaining the thought of doing what Simon did.

Back on topic of the games: Here is what we can look forward to with NHLN- US and NHLN-CA game schedules: NHLN-US NHLN-CA if this is accurate, 12/19 - this game - is the last game we will lose in the US, due to NHLN-US. The NHLN-CA games (where I assume those of you in Canada also lose the Wings game?) are all also on Versus, so hopefully you have that option. I have to wonder if they just haven't updated the schedule, since I can't believe this is the last one we are losing. But I can hope! Here's another reason Hasek is in tonight: NHL.com game preview Dominik Hasek made 27 saves before the shootout for his 371st career victory, moving within one of tying Andy Moog for 12th all-time. Hasek has won five straight starts against the Kings, and is 14-4-0 with two ties and a 2.03 goals-against average in 20 career games against them.

Hasek was league-leading all last season in GAA and between 1st and 3rd in other stats. No one made a big deal of it then, oddly, although it was mentioned repeatedly during the post-season that Hasek took the team to the third round for the first time since he won a Cup with them. Constantly harping and complaining about Dom getting to play doesn't and won't change the situation, and things can - and probably will - only get better for him. We get that you don't like him. Hooray. Assuming that people in here are fans of the team and not just rabid Ozzie slappies, then you support the players, including Hasek. You support the decisions of the coach and management, as well, as to who plays and who sits. PS - your sarcasm doesn't make you clever. It just makes you sarcastic. And I can out-do you any day, trust me, but I won't bother. This forum is for fans to express their opinions, and hopefully be respectful about it. Try it!

Thanks for the update. If the WIngs do their little trick of not showing up against bottomfeeders, then Dom will get the "L" in spite of how he plays.

Good job! I sent a letter to him, with a very similar feel. Don't know where you are, Joe, but central Texas is out of luck, and out of bucks, to boot. Even if Time Warner was planning to offer NHLN-US, I don't plan to pay twice -- or at all, if this keeps up. I can afford a couple more "live" games in Dallas for the CI and digital cable bills I pay. Maybe I will trade that for whatever I can scrounge online for free, and the odd Dallas vs. ___ game on Fox SW out of Dallas. What a rip off. Oh, well... is it game time yet?? Yahoo, here I come!

We get Drapes but no Downey? Sadness. But, yay for the return of the Barbasol Man. Can't wait! Homer and Drapes are back, now all we need is for poor Malts to feel better.

More or less is right. again.... "… Ansar Khan reports that Dominik Hasek will start tomorrow night versus LA, while Chris Osgood will start Thursday. While that goes against the rotation policy, it’s not an unusual move as the Wings prefer that Dom go through the same day-long warm up process before every game he plays and that’s just not possible on the second day of a back-to-back, particularly when they have to fly to another city." There's a team involved in the wins and losses. Ozzie doesn't win every game on his own, any more than Dom loses them alone. If you care about the Red Wings (and not just Ozzie, as is the case with some here), then you support and acknowledge BOTH goalies. The sad-sack comments and ill feelings toward Hasek are getting a little old, esp. when Hasek is playing better every game. Moving right along...

    NHL Center Ice

no problem. I don't like being ripped off, and this situation is just that. I understand, after a long day battling for my clients' rights vs. Giant Three-Initial Companies, all I want to do is go home and watch my Wings kick somebody's butt. I hate Bettman for taking that away from me, for oh, so many, reasons (not just NHLN).

    NHL Center Ice

Hey, Mac. My stories are similar to yours. I just assumed it was because I live in hockey-hell here in central Texas, and the cable company just doesn't care since there may be only a dozen or so of us who buy the CI package. As it turns out, they really don't care. They offer no discount or pro-rated cost, and have no plans to ever offer NHL Network - not that I would pay extra for it on top of CI, even if they did. The blue screen of death happened here earlier in the season. I rebooted my digital box a couple of times, and that seemed to help. You could try that, but it's frustrating when you know the game is on and you're having to mess with equipment that "should" work. I get a lot of "stutter" and pixilation here (where the feed freezes and the image is chopped up in little squares) but I think it's the digital feed to my sector. Most of my channels do that at times. I've traded out digital boxes twice since October, still does it, so I assume it's in the route and there's nothing I can do here to correct it. I've asked for a system check many times, but the problem continues off and on. By far the worst thing about Center Ice is having NHLN steal games we paid for already. That is something the cable franchises can't do anything about. As they say, accurately, we are just the conduit, we don't control the programming. I've called Center Ice, directly, and they at first told me that they didn't even know NHLN was cherry-picking games from the schedule. I think they know it now, but apparently it's the NHL and the franchises who are being shown on the new network who are culpable. I expect there will be some sort of adjustment next season as to which network shows what teams/games. As long as I know I am getting only a partial schedule next season, and that half the Wings games will be blacked out, I can decide if I want to pay a fortune for it, or not. My gripe is that the CI package was already paid for, in good faith, and then after the fact, I find out I get to miss 4-6 games a month, mostly Wings games? Sounds like broadcast fraud to me. So far, the FCC hasn't answered my request that they investigate this, perhaps because the commissioners there are not hockey fans? I guess this is part of the NHL's plan to attract new fans? By making it impossible for existing fans like myself to access games, no matter what we do? Yay, Bettman!!

    12/19 GDT: Red Wings 6, Kings 2

Miquel just posted a couple of ways, plus yahoo is showing it online (just go to the scoreboard, click on the little video camera where it says "watch live" NHL schedule if you go here, you will see the Wings' schedule and which networks are showing the games. If you see NHLN-US, and you live in the US, you're screwed if you have Center Ice. See tonight's game. If you see NHLN-CA - see Decmber 31st game - then Center Ice shows the game in the US. Or I should say, they did last month. Who knows what they will be doing in the future? I think the reason Ansar Khan gave is plausible for the skip in the goalie rotation. In addition, the team wasn't great in front of Dom v. the Caps, but he managed to tame Ovechkin a couple of times despite that, which was a good sign. Maybe Babcock is giving them all a chance to play up to speed tonight. The only worry I have is all the talk about how bad the Kings are -- so we take the night off due to a "lowly" opponent. I hope I am worrying for no reason. Go, Wings. Go, DOM!!!

Nice job, Mickey! No game for lots of us out here. Could someone post a link that we can use to watch, since Bettman TV has stolen this game from Center Ice subscribers? Go, Wings, no shootouts, please?

Did Hudler get a star? That was a beauty. If Babs doesn't put him in shootouts as the clutch scorer from now on, I would question why not.

just glad the bashers will have less to feed on. I do wish they had won it in regulation, but I won't complain about a win. We won't fall out of contention over 1 point instead of 2, I guess.

OK, Hasek's given them the chance to win. PLEASE put Hudler and Flip in the shootout. No offense to Hank, but no more slapshots when the game is on the line in SO.
