without rewinding the DVR of the game, did I hear correctly that Lilja leads the league in blocked shots with 50? I swear they said that in the game intro. I believe it. BlueMonk, I said the same thing today to my friend in Atlanta, had a feeling the MIA players were going to make a big hole in the team effort. Too bad it happened tonight, but it was not unexpected in a way.

I'm with ya, Edi. Have some warm tea and get some rest. night!!
-
of course they can, and will. I do wish some of those stellar chances had gone in in regulation and OT, but that's the way it goes. We missed Homer tonight, for sure.
-
too bad we didn't get it in OT. Zata, Data and Huddie = nuthin doing.
-
Dom, picture of patience. Roloson is stoning our best shooters. uh oh.
-
why couldn't we win that in OT?
-
I have been here for every game, save one. And I root for Ozzie, not against him or any other Red Wing. Pay attention.
-
works for me. One can only hope that a poster wishing for a season-ending injury to a Wings player is good enough for a permanent vacation.

almost as funny as you only showing up when Hasek lets in a goal. Didn't see you when he won three straight and got a shut out. Or were you banned??
-
weeping and wailing from the Hasek Haters... dammit, he's OK! You almost got your fondest wish, didn't you?
-
here's a liitle friend for you, EZBAKE. You can add him to your cadre of haters. I've never seen a group of fans who root against their own players, until now. You're unique in my experience.
-
you'd be a lot more credible if you showed up when Hasek gets a shut out. You're nowhere to be seen then, how odd. Instead you only show up to ***** when he lets in a goal or two.
-
you know what I am thinking? remarkable! I think he had no chance on it, actually. But if you want to think he was 100% at fault, speak for yourself, please. Not me.
-
Dom has no luck at all. None. I am going to the store, be back later. Have fun listening to the Hasek bashers who will be here momentarily.
-
I always ask politely. I think it helps. Great work by Rafalski and Henrick "who's Crosby?" Zetterberg.
-
never mind.

Dear Red Wings: if you only score one goal tonight (thanks, Mark!), you will not win. love, Loooo
-
Hasek gets penalties called against him, not for him. Downey again? He was in the box for the first Edmn. goal, too.
-
any of our little flock going to the game tonight? Happy Birthday, Flip-Check - a little late. Hope they play great for you tonight!

Holland to start talks with Ozzie for a multi year extension
puckloo39 replied to HockeyCrazy3033's topic in General
Same bodies, different level of play. The Wings themselves admit they're playing better now than they did earlier in the season when Hasek was in net, before the hip injury. Dom got a tough start, it doesn't necessarily define the rest of his season - no more than Ozzie's great start guarantees that level of play for the rest of the season in his case. But we can hope for that! I still think it's a little early to decide right now who is going to play all the playoff games. I don't see the problem with the tandem arrangement they're working with now. Both goalies are contributing to wins. -

So, who do you think Kenny will go after, IM? Maybe a veteran to back up Ozzie? I do believe, win or lose, this is going to be Dom's last season. -
Everything I've read the past couple of days says Babs in rotating goalies. That means Oz and Dom play every other game for a while. Ozzie played the last game, so... guess you're stuck with Dom tonight. Hasek is 3-0-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average in his past three starts. rotate They're going to miss Draper and Homer and Malts, but if the whole team keeps clicking as they have been, I am not too worried. Go, Dats! Go, Zata. I hope Downey gets a Gordie Howe hat-trick tonight.

True, Eva. It's all in one's perspective, isn't it? I liked Manny as a Wing (backup), but he's hasn't got what it takes to withstand the pressure cooker as Detroit's #1. Only the best will do!
-
Manny was just talking, he probably didn't intend for it all to sound as dramatic as it seems in print. Beside, I am sure the media never re-interprets what players are saying, so it comes out different than what the conversation actually was about. NBD. He's the best thing to happen to the Blues in a long time, for what that's worth.

No Homer, Maltby or Draper? I am a bit worried, esp. with Nick's sore hip, too. Hopefully he's OK - he says he is, but... Enough with the injuries, already.
