ESPN.com says Flip from Huddie and Lids. The two minute bench penalty on the Canes was for "abuse of an official" I think they should get a medal for that, not a penalty.

Interviewing Flip now... he doesn't care who gets the goal, says he. I bet he gets credit before the end of the game. It looked like his goal to me. But as he says, as long as it went in, who cares?

Osgood would never try this. But if he did, the Ozzie Rools/Hasek Drools cult would offer him a cookie (thanks, Boost!) and think it was the best thing ever. All plays have the potential to be dangerous. It's hockey. These sort of plays happen all the time and worse things happen than... well, nothing, in this case. It's only because Hasek was involved that people are pitching a fit. ^^^ from someone who is clearly an Oz fan, right on! You "rool"!

then don't. Players make split second decisions all the time. This one turned out fine, no harm, no foul, no goal. You don't have to root for Hasek, but you could be a little more objective in this case.

I am glad the vast majority of posters here understand that the game is hockey, and rules are rules. Hasek didn't do anything illegal, or immoral, in executing a perfectly legal play. It's also nice to see that most people here support and understand that Hasek is a hockey player, and not "just" a goalie. Both of our 'tenders have hockey skill beyond that of the average goalie. So, we could be happy about that and enjoy it. But this is LGW, so what can we expect?

Precisely. Vladdy should have been sanctioned for hitting Lemieux Much more dangerous hit than Hasek going for the puck (which is what he did - watch the replays again) and Gabby doing a flip. Perfectly legal - both plays - with a spectacular landing, no injuries, what's the problem? Other than some here don't like Dom. There shouldn't have even been a penalty, but at least it didn't cost the shut out. If there are any further repercussions over a legal play which resulted in preserving a shut out, I will know for certain that the NHL and Bettman have conspired to ruin the game I love. As if the NHL Network/Center Ice ripoff, the trapezoid rule and the instigator rule aren't enough , let's figure out a way to stop players from actually playing.
