nice, IM! Glad they're all OK...
-
If I could somehow fit your entire post into my signature, I would do so, SWF. That was awesome. You are far too sane to post here, I think.
-
That was a whole lot of words, all run together. But what you're trying to say, I think, is that Hasek has amassed a HHOF-worthy set of credentials and Ozzie still has time to do the same, if Hasek will just get out of the way and let that happen? Ozzie stands on his own merits, IMO. Hasek's not involved in Ozzie's eventual call to the Hall, or not, as the case might be. That must be the new Ozzie helmet we heard about last season, that never saw the light of day. Too bad, it's kinda cool.
-
I may be the last one here, but I am not bailing out on Dom. I have a couple of questions. If Hasek doesn't ever play, how exactly is he supposed to be ready for the playoffs? Most goalies in the NHL have to have some playing time to get into a groove, and Hasek may be more in that mode than most. So, sitting him for weeks, months, however long everyone thinks is good... is that the best plan? If something happens to Ozzie ***pttootie-pttootie--warding off evil whammies, God forbid!! anything happen to him** then what? We have a completely untested-in-the-NHL Jimmy Howard and a rusty Hasek with no game time and no momentum in net for the playoffs? Anyway, if there is something really wrong and Dom can't make a go of it this season, he will be the first one to acknowledge it. There is still money in the bank and the Wings can get someone else if need be, I suppose. I just can't see them heading into the playoffs with just one goalie. That said, it was just one game tonight. It might be too early to show Hasek the door just yet.
-
yeah, now that you mention that... what is with, what... 13 odd-man rushes? Unbelievable. Let's hope that doesn't happen again on Saturday.
-
Nah, it was one bad game. It happens. The team's been cruising for a fall and this was it. Pick 'em up and go again on Saturday. One thing I can say about the Dom. When he's great, he's truly great. When he's bad... it's really bad. Nothing much in between for the goalie. There's no point in my saying that not every goal was on him alone, but most of you already know that. If the Wings brass decide to "retire" Cheli and Dom on the basis of this game, they need their heads examined. Needless to say, I think that's not too likely. The team will move on. They'll be fine. stuff: Good for Dan Cleary, and *sniffle* for Hank's streak ending. Datsyuk is a treasure... I am more impressed every game, I swear.
-
I dunno... I like Quincey, too. But I am not quite ready to give up on Cheli. He looks a little tired, but they all look slow tonight to me, except for Datsyuk. Uncharacteristic, to be caught on bad changes and take double penalties on one shift. That was weird, I am trying to remember the last time I saw the Wings do that. Is it my imagination that the hooking call is redefined for the Wings, somehow? I swear a couple of those calls were not hooks.
-
so, the Wings are going to buckle down now and not allow four unanswered goals... right? Do something to salvage this, please, gentlemen...
-
you don't, of course, dear... please continue...
-
that's OK, Dom wasn't the only one out there, except on one of those goals. Legace is done letting in goals and Dom is just... done.
-
OK, I will say it first. Pull Dom now.... what a shame.
-
no, now it can begin. Ridiculous. Can we get the hell out of the box please???
-
he was completely alone on that one... Wings caught on a bad change. Too bad.
-
Manny settled in. Dangit. The Wings are going to have to try harder to get one by him now. Maybe we will get a 5-3 in our favor?
-
both for hooking? That has to stop immediately, if not sooner. Stupid. And costly. We need another goal right now. If not sooner.
-
well, those penalties cost us dearly.
-
If history is a teacher, you are correct, sir.
-
so far, Manny's had an inauspicious beginning tonight. I think he will settle down, so we need to keep after him. Sorry, Manny, but you don't get to win this one.
-
Danny boy... looo is very pleased with this development. 2-0 Wings with 3:56 left in the first. And yes, Jackman is a tool.
-
they've picked up some talent, for sure. Let's see if they can sustain anything v. the Wings for 60 minutes.
-
Dom.
-
holy cow. That was a bad one, Manny. Nice, Dats... thank ya!
-
OMG, did you all hear the Stars fired GM Doug Armstrong today? Jeeez... that's one way to walk into a job, Bret. They appointed Hull as interim manager (edit: and Les Jackson, who's been w/ Dallas forever). whoa! Dallas is not going to tolerate a .500 start to the season, I guess. Bet Dallas gets better now. sorry, back on topic: Go, WIngs!!!!
-
mmm... they're OK. I am not much of a fan of the whole thing, I guess. I guess if I didn't know they were All Star jerseys, I would ask "East and West what?"
-
thanks for the GDT, MCKid... I think you do a great job! Aflac, you, too, of course. Hope all is well. Wings will win this one. Welcome back, Manny, but no... you cannot have the "W" I like your prediction, MCKid, so I won't repeat it. Z with 1G and 1A (at least), however.
