well, on the "bright" side, we will get lots more posts now, since Hasek had the nerve to "let" CBJ score on a 5-3 scramble. All the bashers will be right here!!
-
dammit... I hate 5-3s. Can't defend against that kind of scramble.
-
yeah, where you been? When's the last time you saw a GDT with 12 people online? I think this is hilarious!!
-
It's me and Dom against the world. Care to join us? We're going to win.
-
surfer dude counts shots for the other team, I think. Each Red Wing shot is worth double value in the SOG count, because it's the Wings. And the reverse for the Wings goalies. Three shots and one gets counted. Kronner has been GREAT! He nailed Feds with a big hit earlier...and made him like it, too...
-
I wondered the same thing. I kinda like him... gosh, it's nice in here tonight... roomy!!
-
nice. Looking for a challenge, I guess.
-
actually, I've counted 7 stops, he just has credit for 4. But whatever...
-
they just were saying on the Detroit feed that the fans voted on it, and home-white won by 63% or something like that. I don't know if that's the reason tonight, though. I think it's what you said - CBJ brought dark jerseys so the Wings had to wear white.
-
I can think of a few reasons. But they're welcome to think what they want. I am just glad Ozzie and Dom are grown ups and know that team work is what will win the big dance. I appreciate your thoughts (on Dom's behalf).

ai-ai-aiiii!!! Lebda!!!!!
-
oh, good, you can join me. I think I am the only other Dom fan around here anymore, but I don't give up on players that easily, I guess. I wouldn't boo Feds either, but that's just me, too...
-
not that I've heard, but I am blaming Fedorov. Oooh... Kronner just hit Feds.... and there goes Feds to the box.
-
Hi, RS! I guess the OzzieNation is boycotting the Dominator, or something. Too bad.
-
empty arena, and empty GDT. This may be the fewest I've ever seen in here.
-
awww... in the fan email question segment, Lebda says Cheli was his idol, growing up, and now he gets to play with Cheli. Nice.

nice article on Ozzie

Time Warner C.I. not broadcasting DET/NSH Game?

note to Austin TX fans: I blistered a couple of account managers' ears today over this stupidity, and they finally said there is no plan to put the NHL Network online this season, or ever, in Austin. I guess the local franchises can decide if they want to take up a valuable spot on the 1000's of digital channels they have available, so all 10 of us Red Wings fans here can see the games. TWC couldn't care less that Center Ice, a service they promote and offer, has been corrupted and that we get the short end of the hockey stick in programming. I can't say realistically that I am surprised. Sorry, guys, I tried. -
well, I'm convinced!

True. The All Star game is a popularity contest now, by definition... so if a player is popular enough - ala Rory Fitzpatrick - it's possible that he can get in the lineup based on write in nominations alone. You can apparently vote as often as you want. So, prepare to ballot-stuff, Ozzie fans! Sharks fans did it sucessfully a couple of years ago, as I recall. I "borrowed" this from snapshots blog (mlive) -- rules for voting on the ASG lineup: The 2007-08 season marks the 20th year in which fans will determine the starting lineups for the NHL All-Star Game. Fans can vote for six Eastern Conference All-Stars and six Western Conference All-Stars: three forwards, two defensemen and one goaltender for each team. If a player is not listed on the ballot, a space is provided for "write-in" votes. The three forwards, two defensemen and one goaltender from each Conference receiving the most votes will comprise the starting lineups. Each of the 30 NHL clubs has at least two representatives on the ballot. That last part, where Bettman insists on at least two players from each team is where the whole thing got watered down, IMO, into a show rather than a game. The best are not always represented in the line ups, just the most popular (although they're often one and the same). But that's OK, it's about the PR anyway.

No one has said that Hasek gets to play because of his name. No one with the Red Wings, anyway. Right now is right now. Who knows who will be better, come April? Could be Ozzie, could be Dom. In the meanwhile, shelving Hasek for the foreseeable future, whether it's one game or ten, is just silly. If the team continues to play as well in front of Hasek as they have in front of Ozzie, Dom's just as apt to come back strong (much as the haters hope and pray he fails). And if he does come back strong, that's a problem ONLY if you happen to be a Hasek-hater.

Hasek's "lost" two games this season, apparently single-handedly. Who knew? l understand, you don't like Hasek and you love Ozzie. Got it. When Oz has had to face 26 minutes of penalties in one game, and the kind of choppy mess we saw in Anaheim, we will have an actual comparison. I don't disagree about playing Ozzie tomorrow, though, and I understand the appeal. I wouldn't have a problem with Ozzie going again tomorrow, but I guess Babs does. Or maybe it just doesn't make sense to the coaches or management to have Hasek just sit around until the team loses with Ozzie in net? That is going to happen sooner or later, ya know. Anyway, it seems a bit biased to me to bash Hasek over "losing" two entire games when I don't recall that he was out there alone... any more than he or Ozzie "won" they games with W's alone.

Time Warner C.I. not broadcasting DET/NSH Game?
puckloo39 replied to NeverForgetMac25's topic in General
For what it is worth, I filed a complaint this morning with the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) regarding what I would categorize as fraud. We paid for a sports package, NHL Center Ice, with certain expectations. My stance is that the NHL Network - aka Bettman and Co. - is arbitrarily taking away services we have already paid for in good faith, offering (most of) us no alternative method of accessing the games they've selected for their new network. I am protesting the fact that the public wasn't informed about the fact that the Center Ice package would be compromised by this poorly planned launch of a competitive network, with insufficient warning, and with no ability for a customer to opt out of paying for the now diminished service which was paid for in good faith. This will probably lead nowhere, but if it gets Bettman in trouble at all, it will be worth it. -
not at all... I am part of it. I am glad you're enjoying yourself.
