woohoo! Go Sox!! Wow, the Wings might as well commit some real offenses, with all these little nitpicky ones they seem to be guilty of. Do it up right, boyz, they're gonna call you anyway...
-
save of the game, right there.
-
Draper scores... on Dom.
-
good for Homer!! Just keep playing your game, baby. Never back down!!
-
Ellis deserved that one. Hooray!!
-
un-b-lievable. Third PP of the game for the Canucks. Are we honestly going to have to spend the entire night killing penalties?
-
you're psychic, evidently.

Loved Lindros as a player, I am glad he's retiring, though. Too much danger of permanent injury on the next hit, and just not worth it. He will be great in his new role. Best of luck, Big E.

I like Abby, and hope he lands another job, pronto. Always felt bad for him trying to follow Roy's huge presence in Colorado, it must have been pretty tough. LA definitely would profit from his services, but as it's been mentioned, he won't go without employment for long, either in the NHL or Europe.

one of the funniest moments in the playoffs that year. Gotta love Cheli... Go, Dom, set yet another NHL record tonight!!
-
you're right, and it didn't do them any good anyway, did it?
-
that's a fine idea, if it's even-handed. It wasn't in the game vs. Phoenix. Does make one wonder why it's called on one end of the ice and not the other...
-
goalie interference... if you're Homer Homer was not in the crease. The Yotie screening Dom on the goal allowed was, however. Go figure. I hope they don't take Homer's game away from him, just for the sake of some warped attempt at parity.
-
that's probably going to continue. I am afraid the Red Wings may become the charity team for league parity on penalties, and thus will get more than their fair share this season. The incorrect call on Homer last night for interference (he was not in the crease, as it turns out - video proved it) which took away a Wings goal is an example. The same thing happened on the other end, with a Phoenix player interfering with Dom, which resulted in a goal for the Yoties. No call there, but I for one was totally unsurprised by that. This isn't a conspiracy theory, it's just the way it is. All the Wings can do is play even smarter and make the league recognize superior effort on the ice, or risk looking like the fools we know the league brass to be.

Tellqvist a star of the game, and Zetterberg not? Am I missing somethi
puckloo39 replied to Cheli24's topic in General
I never understand the awards on game stars. Tellqvist-Sawchuk stopped 37 pucks, some of them saves, some of them pucks that ended up in front of him. He lost, he shouldn't get a star. Zetterburg should have, but ho-hum, he's Zetterburg and this sort of performance is expected, no recognition required. BTW, Pang wasn't ever much of a goaltender, except in his own mind. -
I am sorry, DG. I checked the box score and it looks like it was a penalty-ridden, awful game. We know how you feel. Dallas is streaky, they just got the upper hand tonight, that's all.
-
Actually, you're probably right, and I am crazy. Ask anybody...
-
you... you mean that Anaheim game wasn't Hasek's fault?? j/k Edi. I am just glad the Wings took over tonight, as it should be, after the wandering around and what looked like a repeat of the Western Penalty Fest tour of California. After the last five of the second period, it was total dominance. Much Wing love is occuring at my house right now...

in practice yesterday or something like that... a puck bounced off of Ozzie and clipped Hank under the eye... he got stitches, I think I read, too. Poor baby. Heh~ Makes him look like a hockey player, that's all!
-
I am so glad the Wings decided not to let these desert yokels win this game. Listen to the crowd... they're chanting, "Let's go, Red Wings..." I am enjoying the conspicuous silence of the persistent Hasek bashers. He played well, aside from that one goal where he couldn't figure out how to see a puck through the Coyote's player standing in his crease. Zata and Dats are magic. And Malts rocks, as usual. Enjoy the trip home, Wings!
-
I love Datsyuk... what a player. Zata, u r d man!! DHZ line... unreal.
-
No, not allowed. How dare you???
-
Goody, now there are three of us who like him. There's nothing wrong with Malts. People are just fickle and demanding, and that's the way it goes... Flip.is.snake.bit. Perry-odd.

smiling here. See?? smiling loooo!!! It just kills me to see a puck laying in the crease after some goalie like Tellqvist-Sawchuk rebounds it out there, and there's not a Wing in sight to put it in an open net. I miss the days of Shanahan and Hull, who knew where to be and what to do... that's all. Lebda is the man! Thanks, Jovo!
-
well, thank God. Lebda! We will take it. Glad he didn't miss the damned net.
