I can be very persuasive, except in trying to convert Hasek-haters. I want a third period that looks just like the last five minutes of the second. Purposeful play and pressure, Red Wings hockey. Love it.

The Wings did this all last season. It's the "{fill in the name of the opponent's goalie} for Vezina" approach, where they make the other team's goalie look like the reincarnation of Terry Sawchuk.

not so sure about that.... I am simply pointing out that I doubt NJ fans are calling for Brodeur to be replaced. His stats and Dom were virtually tied two days ago.

Me, too... I missed the first period, because I was out rescuing a friend stranded on the interstate in her stalled car (out of gas, ack!). So I didn't see the first goal for (Huddie!!) or against. But I saw the second one. Unless Dom can figure out how to see around a player in his crease, interfering with him, I am not sure how he stops it. Dom needs to get some more shots on goal, not 10 per game. No goalie plays well in that situation... and at this rate he's never going to get any sort of timing or rhythm in a game. He gets the crappily officiated games like Anaheim and this one so far -- so people think Hasek is the problem. He's not. But I know it is easy to blame Dom. Too bad, too. He'll be fine, as soon as he gets a couple of decent games under his belt. I can understand why you'd want Ozzie in ... you want to win. Me, too. But I am not sure how playing Ozzie helps Dom get a decent game or two so he gets in the groove.

I agree with Ken Kal. Hate to say it, but Hasek and the Wings won't get the same consideration/calls as Wayne-O's team, because... they are Hasek and the Red Wings. Nuf said.

man, you got this right, KP - thank you for saying it, because I sure wanted to... I have a sick little radar about these types of games, and I want so badly to be wrong. It's the last game of a long road trip, and they think Phoenix is not a threat -- used up all their juju in San Jose. I hope they come out and prove to me that home cooking is not calling them, and play the way they did Thursday night... but I ain't gonna bet on it.

Did you miss the save he made in the last minute of play. Guess so. Was the officiating this bad in SJ? I think not... hope it not going to be Freak Show II, Anaheim Revisited. We're only down by one, not the end of the world. Yet.
