The same team who played the Sharks needs to show up tonight and play the way they did on Thursday. Everyone is ready to dump Dom, but seriously, another game like that mess in Anaheim with 20+ minutes of PK and 5-3s won't help much. Phoenix may not have scoring threats like Zata, but it won't matter if we're too busy killing off stupid penalties to get a scoring chance. I have little sinking feeling about tonight. If the team is looking forward to the trip home and a couple of days off, they're in for trouble. Hopefully, the smell of home-cooking won't be too powerful a distraction, and everyone will show up. Hudler, Drapes and Homer with goals, Dom achieves yet another NHL all-time record.

note to the Drake, do not lead with your face! Get better, and hurry back!!!

Suprises / dissapointments so far this season...
puckloo39 replied to interminded's topic in General
The season is really too young to get all wadded up about anything, really. Gerber, good surprise and good for him. Emery got the hype last season and Gerber was the goat. Get 'em, Martin! Hudler hasn't stepped it up but I am not disappointed in him, as I believe he will yet. Biggest disappointment: that people are either surprised or disappointed by Dom's supposedly dismal performance so far, in less than a dozen games. Disappointed in Holland (and I am usually a fan of his), who thinks it's good that the fans and media are in a frenzy over Hasek's failure to perform, with a team which Holland admits hasn't been up to snuff in front of Hasek. He likes it, as he believes the media-generated controversy could be good for revenues. if you're interested That's today's NHL, I guess. -
nighty night, all. For those in Michigan, I hope the bad weather is gone and you're all OK! xo, looooooo
-
yes, McLaren is an idiot. No likey. But not on a Pronger type level.
-
I would like to see that, too. Dom would have given his eyeteeth to get into a game like this one tonight. No way to get any rhythm or momentum killing 28 minutes of penalties. For those who are going to say Dom wouldn't have played as well as Oz did tonight. You have no way to know that.
-
that's part of it. This one had momentum and was winnable. Anaheim game wasn't.
-
she's still in shock that Parker said anything nice about any Red Wing, probably.
-
the Sharks announcers just complimented the Wings, saying they may be the smallest team in the league, but they "sure don't play small." Nice. And true, at least tonight. This is the game I've been waiting to see, with everyone contributing and staying out of the box, for the most part. Capitalizing on chances, sticking up for each other. What a total contrast from the Anaheim game. No comparison, really.

I am just glad this one isn't going to OT. I have to get up in 6 hours and go to work...
-
When Mule comes back, that will happen.
-
no chance for Nabby. If they hadn't scored on that setup, it would have been shameful. 4-2 Wings.
-
Ellis? Ellis!!!! Nabby had NO idea where that one came from.
-
hey, the ref actually blew the whistle when the puck was stopped. Dom should be so lucky once in a while!!
-
no choice for Lilja... Thorton would have had a goal if he hadn't done that. Kill it off, Wings.
-
good stop, Ozzie... pressure is on from SJ.
-
well, no one ever accused Reech of being smart, he was a pretty good hockey player once, though. I would be a homer too, if I were him... they gave him a job that sounds like he basically gets to hang around with the team and get paid for it. I want that job!! I really like Drew, and I agree, he'd be fun to have as a Wings' color guy. He knows a lot about the game.
-
about ten minutes ago.
-
Drew Remenda (FSN Bay Area color guy) loves Homer. If you don't have that feed, he just did a nice little piece on how effective Homer is at his job. I always like the SJ feed, they may be the least homeristic announcers in the league.
-
Nabby stoned 'em....
-
5-3... if the Wings don't score here, they ain't gonna.
-
yep, I have been saying that the last couple of games... at least two GA in Anaheim were caused by just that problem.
-
that's what a sold out crowd sounds like... nice goal.
-
yeah, they know.... Crossbar got that one. Sharks are on the move, looking for the equalizer.
-
thank you, post. Rivet is trying to get that goal, but he hit the post again! I wasn't aware that Grier was the SJ scoring threat.
