Cleary's got 2/3 of a Gordie Howe hat-trick.
-
Looks like Sammy was determined to get one tonight. Good for him!
-
how is Rafalski looking? ?

Pronger = the anti-Yzerman.
-
that matters not. Someone will say that, regardless of who's in net, and whether it's his fault or not.
-
Just got home, but I don't have to look to know what's going on in this game. I bet the PP stinks, right?

I am sure the guys who are playing tonight would be pleased to know they are such scrubs. I would expect TB is not playing their first line vets either, so the goalies better win this one, no matter who's in net. It's preseason. It doesn't matter, really...

Like Shadow, I am a long-time fan of Dom's and have tons of footage and evidence of Hasek's incredible career. I actually remember the save he's describing. It defies belief, which was plainly written on the Recchi's face. He looked like someone kicked him where it really hurts. Shadow, people judge Dom however they want. Evidence doesn't really matter, facts are relative. We know the truth.

I haven't renewed yet, but I will. Since HillbillyWF and I have the same cable company, it sounds like it's not quite ripe yet or something. What does "we have a hold on it" mean, anyway? They're using the channel tier to show something else, or what? Who knows.... but they'd better have it ready to rumble in October, that's all I gotta say!

University of Michigan - The upset - The future
puckloo39 replied to RedWingedKitten's topic in Other Sports
Sorry, guys. I read this morning that there are calls for the coach to step down. Do you think that will happen? Admittedly, I don't pay much attention to any sport not involving a puck and a stick, but I did notice that Texas won yesterday. I noticed, mainly because SWF was there as a TCU grad (sorry, Jack...) Hope the season turns around for you Michigan fans. -
more clever marketing from Dallas Just a bit more on the Dallas Stars' PR to woo fans. Just curious, does Detroit do anything even remotely like this? I would go, if I were in Dallas.

that's awesome! Thanks for posting...

I think there is an exception somewhere to every story about meeting up with players. I've heard that "all" NHLers are awesome and then I've heard that some are not so friendly and are butt-heads to fans. Personally, I've not had any bad experiences with NHL players... unless you count some of them ducking and running when they see fans. But I don't think that's rude; I think they simply don't have time or are maybe having a bad day -- which they are allowed, like anyone else. Who says they have to perfect and accessible 24/7? I don't think they owe me anything other than their best effort on the ice. Everything else is gravy... Anyway, I haven't gone out of my way to meet any NBA or NFL players, so I can't speak to that aspect. I did sit next to Roger Staubach on a plane once, and he was a total gentleman and delightful company. JMO.

Duck and cover! Glad Kyle was OK.

Go, Stars!! I have got to call my buddy Rick in the Stars marketing office and congratulate him on this campaign. I love it!

^^ What Vegas said.

did you see the little comment at the bottom notes? Jiri Hudler, who contributed 15 goals with an average of just 10 minutes per game last season, could be a player to watch for the Red Wings with the departure of Todd Bertuzzi and Eric Calder to free agency. Now's your chance, kiddo! Work for it and the coach will notice. I swear, Babs has something against this guy last season.

good! Go, Ozzie! You stay here where you belong, in Detroit!
-
translated article re: Dom in case you're interested, Dom's working out all summer long... too early in the AM for the younger goalies in CZ. They also can't do this!
-
I love that our goalies are so dedicated... and creative!! Thanks to all who added the Ozzie articles/comments to this thread, instead of creating a new thread, by the way. Both of our goalies are awesome, and I am glad they are "happy together." Sexy tandem, indeed. Silly Oz.

I totally agree! Ozzie is great guy and we're very lucky to have him. I am always amazed at how hard all the players work off-season to stay in a-one shape. Well, most of them, anyway... good find on that article, wingsfan979802! Thanks!!

It is. You think he has a pair of those plaid pants, too? He's a "wild and crazy guy"!!

yes, the resemblance is truly amazing, is it not?

Briana Barbuda here. One of my friend's name is Alberta South Pole. Umm... This thread is a hoot. Kimmo Drapenen is my favorite so far.
