    Why the Lack of Buzz?

you guys think WE got problems? we could be Ottawa. LMAO at Murray and his insistence on kicking Dom to the curb and saddling Ottawa with Gerber. I love this!! They're considereing sending Gerber to Bingo so he doesn't count against the cap. Worst news: Emery wants more money. Surprise!!! not. Gee, if Dom doesn't straighten up and sign for chump change soon, we could always go grab Gerber, eh?

    poor buffalo

I don't even want to think about what you just said. We have guys who are able to score (Zetter, Dats, etc.) but a goal scorer the likes of Hull or Robitaille would be nice. Wait, what year is this? Never mind. Any team would like more scorers, but the Wings will be fine, I think. I don't expect much to materialize in terms of a scoring forward this summer. However, I am hoping Kenny has a big surprise for me in that area. Kenny?

LA Kings Offer Hasek 2 yr 10 mill. Deal?

I understand. You didn't like getting to round 3, game 6 this season? The Wings over-achieved to do it, and like it or not, Dom was a big reason they got there at all. The Wings played no more than 20 minutes a game vs. the Ducks at least twice. Dom stood on his head the other 40 to keep them in it. I'm just saying Hasek is worth more to the Wings than even Jiri Hudler now makes, considering the load they plan to dump on him again in terms of responsibility and blame if they don't win. Don't you think? People who believe the Wings play the same, regardless of who is in goal, are fooling themselves. The Wings themselves are the ones who want Dom back the most, I'd say. Perhaps Kenny will decide that winning the Cup might be worth paying Hasek something a little more than the joke of a paycheck he willingly took last season? Dom did it to prove a point, that he wanted to play, not get paid. OK, he did it. To expect him to play for nothing again is ludicrous. I am sure the Wings know it, so what's the hold up?

    Kevin Weekes signs with Devils

it was a rumor see LGW rumors forum. I doubt that Dom considered it, but they reportedly offered $10M for two years.

I'd take Bondra for less than a Million. Yep.

    Kevin Weekes signs with Devils

I thought for certain when I glanced at the title of this thread that someone was promoting Weekes as a replacement for Dom in Detroit. Sadly, it wouldn't have surprised me much if that's what this was about. Dom isn't going to the Rags, not that I'd blame them for asking. Just give the man what he wants, Kenny, or cut him loose.

LA Kings Offer Hasek 2 yr 10 mill. Deal?

Stuff on Hudler's new deal, but same old same old on Dom. Why don't they just give him what he wants, or tell him to get lost? noon 7/5 Ansar Khan The Wings just announced the Jiri Hudler signing. It's a two-year deal that averages a little more than $1 million a season, nearly doubling his $525,000 salary from last year. Hate to sound like a broken record, but they say they're close on the Dominik Hasek signing, with an announcement possible later today or Friday . Another note: Igor Grigorenko wasn't able to make it to the start of the prospects camp Thursday at Joe louis Arena because of problems securing his visa in Russia. They're hoping he can arrive Friday and be on the ice Saturday, but there's also a chance he might miss the whole camp , which ends on Wednesday. Some of the prospects participating include Jakub Kindl, Jan Mursak, Justin Abdelkader, Cory Emmerton and 2007 first-round pick Brendan Smith. The camp, however, is not open to the public. PS - to anyone who thinks Detroit doesn't need Hasek to win, I think you're wrong. Goaltending for the Wings is more than stopping a puck, it's about confidence and the team's willingness to play with an attitude. The Wings were not confident in Cujo or Manny -- therefore, we go bye-bye in Round 1for four years straight. Put Dom back in the nets and they suddenly get better, and make it six games into round 3. hmm. Go figure.

    Raycroft to Detroit?

He probably will come back. I am not sure it's the best move for Dom, but it would be for Detroit. They'll never retire his number in Detroit, I don't think. And watch out, you'll have everyone jumping down your throat for saying that, Booster. I expect Buffalo will, in fact, retire his number at some point, however. He certainly was the franchise there for most of a decade.

    Raycroft to Detroit?

You know, the more I think about this, it's possible Dom won't re-sign with the Wings. He didn't pursue them after all, Kenny and the brass asked Dom to consider coming back, and then he had to go convince his family to stick with it and uproot their lives one more year. If the deal isn't right, or whatever the issue is, they'll go on back to Czech. Some of you will get your wish and Hasek will be gone. I would be OK with that, myself, as it is.

Wings re-sign Hudler to 2-year deal

agreed, I just hope Babs lets him freakin' play this coming season.

Why not Cleary on the top two lines?

I have high hopes for Cleary to re-discover his scoring touch. I really like the guy and want him to have a "Draper" type year where he just owns everybody on the ice. I would love that so much for Cleary.

    Raycroft to Detroit?

take a wild guess whose jersey number I own? refresh my memory... didn't he have a health issue and didn't make it past the physicals last season?
  20. puckloo39

    Raycroft to Detroit?

quite possibly. I am starting a rumor that Hasek is not signing because he is concerned that the team will not be strong enough in front of him for even him to bail out on a consistent basis. Being the team player he has proved himself to be, he doesn't want to take Mr. I's money. ^^ I am pretty much kidding here. But, then again, to read through this forum, one would believe the Wings are going to be bottom feeders because they didn't pick up anyone of size or name-value. And here I thought we were pretty damned good to over-achieve to the point we did in the playoffs, what with injuries and all.

    Raycroft to Detroit?

Because Toronto wants him to leave, or the Wings are desperate to get him? Since when do we actually consider the source, when fanning the flames of a rumor, eh?

    Raycroft to Detroit?

    aw, thanks, Vipe!

    Raycroft to Detroit?

they didn't actually tell Bert to buzz off. He wanted too much money and too much time. Burke was willing to commit it and Kenny couldn't. I won't be too surprised to see Burke come out ahead on this one, much as that make me ill to say that. We re-habbed Bert and then sent him off to Duckieland. I hope you're right, and they tell Dom to buzz off. I don't really want him back if he's going to be dissed all season. Rather see him retire. But you may have to face facts: the Red Wings want Dom back. I just hope Dom's not weighing the facts and decided that the Wings won't make it to the shiny grail with the "scurvy crew" they have now in front of him. That's what he did when he came to Detroit in the first place; made a decision to leave the Sabres for a contender so he could win. No one much has mentioned that possibility. << sarcasm Just a nod to OsGod... aarrgghh~~ Not saying Dom is going elsewhere... he may just be... going. Perhaps the Raycroft thing was his idea, for all we know.

no fear, dear. I am female, and told that I am quite fetching in a Wing's jersey.

If You Were Ken Holland This Off-Season?

would not surprise me to see them trade Hudler, and I don't know that it wouldn't be better for Jiri if they did. I swear Babcock doesn't like the kid -- though I have no real reason to say that aside from the times he didn't play Hudler when it seemed to be a perfect opportunity to do so. No Guerin, please. He made me cringe when he was with Dallas. They couldn't wait to say goodbye to him and his contract. Comrie, yeah, OK to him.
