You have wonderful parents, first of all. I believe Dom is coming back, too. As for him considering his wife and family and wanting to do what's right for all concerned -- it just makes me think more of Dom, if that's even possible. His wife has put up with a lot during his career in the NHL, and I don't think her motives are about money anymore than Dom's are. But I know you all are kidding about what you're saying about her, so it's all good. Come back, Dom. We need another year to make it all turn out right, and see our boyz hoist the shiny, Stanley Cup in Motown. Besides, no one else looks as sexy, tandeming with Ozzie! At least according to Ozzie!!

so... what's your point? I think he will be back for one more year with the Wings, esp. with his son being a senior in HS this Fall.

Ray is a much bigger guy, but he plays with the same athletic abandon Dom did when he was at the top of his game. Ray is still emerging, I think, and you have not seen his best work yet. He watched Hasek for a year, don't forget, and Dom as usual spent considerable time with Ray, working on his game. So, if you see a few Dom moves, I wouldn't be surprised. In game two, Emery tossed his goal stick down and stopped a puck with his blocker hand. Aside from Dom, I don't see very many goalies do that. We don't have many interesting, character goalies anymore, just Dom really. Ray is at least interesting!

What I remember, and what was reported in the local Detroit papers at the time, is that Dom has promised his family, not just his wife, that he would retire if he won the Cup. He said the same thing in 1999 (that he would leave if he won the Cup). When Buffalo was robbed, he came back in 2000 to try and give them another chance. I don't think Mrs. H tell him what to do, but I believe he does respect her and considers her feelings... and he really is discussing it with her and the rest of his family in Czech. His parents are getting older, and the kids, too. I will try and find the ESPN magazine article on Dom in 2003, when he came back to the Wings. They interviewed his wife in it, and she said Dom was so miserable in Czech, wanting to play and missing the NHL, that she was glad when he went back. I don't think they will make the same mistake again this time, but just need a little time to make sure that it's right for Dom and the team. But I do think the Wings will be a better team with Dom than without him.

This game shows what a difference a 100% healthy team makes, when you're driving for a win. If they play the Headhunter Pronger too many more times, the Sens may not remain healthy, however. Hope McAmmond is OK. Homer was lucky to survive, so I hope Pronger didn't succeed in actually maiming McAmmond. Listen to that crowd in Ottawa!! Happy for you, Sens Fans!!!

They're talking about yanking Ray? I doubt that will happen. But Murray's done far stupider things, so maybe so. I would think it more likely Anaheim would yank Pad-Boy, myself after letting in 5. But I am not sure if Anaheim has a back up. Do they?

You left out the fact that they play clean hockey, much like our Wings. That's probably why the Sens and Sabs appealed to you. I am a fan of both teams, myself. Ottawa has always been lacking only a goalie to get to this point. I believe Emery has matured into that role. Oooh, the announcers are suddenly noticing Emery, what do you know??? The "other" goalie in this tilt!

I am so glad... they are a great team, and win it the right way. I hope they roll over the Yucks four straight. They are capable of it. And Emery is doing great. I will be interested to see if the press gives him credit for this. Don't you love the look on his face in that fight video vs. Buffalo?

You're adorable, but I already knew that without seeing you. I am from Kentucky, originally. Louisville has really gorwn up since I lived there. Been in Texas so long, I don't really claim any other of the six states I've lived in at one time or another.

I define dirty play as illegal contact, intent to injure, and getting away with flagrant violations. The refs are complicit, to say the least. Yucks players shoved and literally sat on Hasek the entire series, but the Wings did not do the same to Giguere. Our mistake, I guess, for not playing the same way (though we wouldn't have gotten away with it, probably). Murray and the Sens will lose if they don't reciprocate, but I don't think the Sens play that way, anymore than the Wings, do. So yeah, I think Anaheim will be awared the Cup in the end. Sens think Yucks are dirty, too Maybe the guys on the ice (and Bowman) know things we don't, those who are saying Anaheim is just "gritty" and doesn't play dirty? If you ask Homer about the definition of dirty, I bet he'd have an opinion. Bowman's comment at least according to Sen's coach, Murray: "Murray said he spoke with former Detroit Red Wings coach Scotty Bowman prior to Monday's game about the way the Ducks play. Murray said Bowman told him that the Senators had to be ready for the Ducks being allowed to get away with illegal tactics. "I just talked to some of the Detroit people and they just told me this is the way it went (in the Western Conference final)," Murray said. "I guess it should have been clear in my mind this is what's going to happen and we'll be allowed to do likewise."
