they are just giving Dom hell, and he's doing great fighting off the BJ's early efforts. Shaky is letting in goals, not stopping them. wow.
-
haha, the announcers called Ferraro out on trashing Dom. Good. Game on!!
-
No, you're not. You're standing outside my front door, really, right? Bert looks soooo good as a Wing. He's gonna have a great game today. Hasek's gonna suck so they'd better play great or else.
-
cool, Hullie is commentating this. He loves Dats. Surprise! Ferraro says losing Kronner is big, and that Hasek stinks. Really?
-
I am going to spend the entire GDT trying to figure out if people mean what they're posting or not.
-
No offense and you're probably right... but I don't give them room for excuses. There will be no easy games in the playoffs when the Wings can get a bye because they are tired. Everyone else has the same schedule of games down the stretch -- just more critical ones and against tougher teams than the Wiings are facing. EDIT: I hope to see Bert have a big game today.
-
you got me, you're a rascal, for sure.
-
I like that descriptor, "not horrible," for Lilja. I hate that we lost Kronner again, but our D is solid, they will adjust. Unless we don't get Nick Lidstrom back, and then all bets are off.
-
18 players on the Red Wings bench get paid more than Hasek, where were they? No one want to win more than Dom. He'll be there when it counts, but he wasn't the reason they lost Friday night - he was the reason they didn't lose in regulation, however. Watch a good OT and SO team like the Stars and tell me the shooters and defense are not the key reasons a team wins or loses in either. I hope to pete they show up today and are not disheartened by losing their rock of Gibraltar, Nick.
-
agreed. http://www.nhlpa.com/Content/Feature.asp?contentId=3690 Nick is key.

I can see it happening. Money makes the world go around, and let's face it, Halliburton and Dell could each buy about 10 hockey franchises each, and build them literal palaces of arenas. I could see Houston as a viable destination, for certain. All it would take is a fat check and some rabid ex-pat, relocated Northern fans -- Houston's full of them. It's actually a good hockey town, with the Aeros and a very lively skating and hockey consumer base. Dallas adopted the Stars in no time and the place sells out with devoted, knowledgeable fans, every game. I'd hate to see another Canadian team move to the sun belt, too, but as Vlady said, Bettman doesn't care about the fans and economics is the great motivator. Phoenix is unnatural, unless you consider how much hockey players love golf! But, Texas could easily support a second team, and I wouldn't have to drive so far to see great hockey! Selfish me!

while I would love to think this is the old "rest the key players in meaningless games down the stretch" ploy, I doubt it. Unfortunately. Nick is a horse (of the thoroughbred variety), and being the player he is, I can't see him taking time off now unless he is really hurt. Shades of Shanny and Stevie being missing for the playoffs... Get better fast, Nick!
-
No need to apologize. To quote you, "Hasek plays a much better game..." Typing at any speed, that means Hasek needs to play better. I just wondered how you thought he could do that. And yes, they all need to show up for 60 minutes and not lay back on a three goal lead and turn the puck over a billion times and let the other team set up in front of the goal. And stay outta the box.
-
I hope you're right... I would just love to see Lilja get a breakaway goal on Noronen. I am sad about Nik, too, but he's gonna just have to learn to get out of the way of those big hits. He needs to watch Lidstrom and emulate that Swedish stealth thing Nick does, where he just melts out of the way of hits.
-
don't mean to quibble, but Hasek was great, stopped three breakaways, and a 2-1 during the first 40. You want better, talk to the rest of the team about turnovers and poor coverage. One goal, he perhaps could have prevented, but he's scared of the trapezoid rule, so he didn't go after the puck as he normally might have. What would you like Dom to do better... maybe score a goal? If Cleary gets a goal, I will be shocked, but happily so.
-
nice GDT, as always, aflac!! I should hope the Wings are miffed with themselves for blowing that game last night... please play all 60 minutes, guys, please??? It's not going to be easy with no Lidstrom. Schneider better get off the schneid, so to speak. Dom was sharp last game, until everyone else stopped playing. They'll do better today, I hope. No prediction, just win and NO more injuries, for heaven's sake.
-
well, dat's dat. 3-2 Flames over Nuckies.
-
Kipper! Dang, he robbed a Sedin. I can't tell them apart. Love the swagger on Miika.
-
no, I am sleepy/tired. Go, Flames! Wake up!!! I like Vancouver, but I've decided I want the Wild in round 1.
-
playoffs, baby! I hope to see the same determination from some guys in red tomorrow...
-
I think Naslund's stick shaft was the last thing that touched it, but it shouldn't matter... goal, Vancouver? yes, goal. 3-2. Flames let them back into this one, but good. wow...
-
Hope you didn't fall asleep, Edi. Nucks are not laying down here... Bad coverage and Kipper may have put it in himself, I think. 3-2 Flames-Nucks.
-
Gentleman Joe and Milan, I feel bad for them both, but they are franchise players in Denver and will stay the course there. I love Hejduk and would love to see him play for a contender.
-
If we were Calgary fans, we would be crying foul over that penalty. Refs trying to help the Nucks get back into the game. Flames better not let down for even one second.
-
By now, I can't name five players on the Avs. Sakic and Hejduk and.... yeah, they're done. Nucks are aliiivvveee~~~ I don't think they can come back, but they're trying. I am sleepy and tired. Go, Flames!
