Morrison, finally. Let's see if the Nucks can do a third period Stars-style come back. Somehow, I doubt it, unless the FLames go night-night like we did last night.
-
can't say that I blame him, if so. He never got to play in the NHL, to speak of. Shame, too, he was great in Rochester.
-
they are talented, but poorly coached and emotionally fragile, HC. The Sens are a collection of very talented individuals who do not play as a team, and we know the Cup is a team affair.
-
Luongo is still in, beginning of the third. It's not like they have a back up who's played this season at all (73 games for Luongo so far). Poor Noronen. He thought he was invisible in Buffalo, but little did he know what invisible really meant.
-
good gosh, Ottawa can score goals by just looking at the puck. I wish we had offense like that, sometimes. Sick. Briere. What a player. He is Buffalo. I wish I had watched that game, too, they hate Montreal beyond all reason in Buffalo. whoever said we would be OK with Wild in round one, yeah, I agree. We could take them, I think.

I read that Ozzie will get one of the remaining games, barring injury to Hasek. So you are probably as right as anyone can be. All I know is Dom is going to Wrestlemania as soon as he lands in Detroit, with his son. Wish it wasn't such an early game, they don't usually play well in the afternoon. Dom will be crabby since he lost last game, he usually comes back with a stingy game next time out. If anyone else shows up, I mean. Otherwise, I am not sure what else he, or Oz, could do to win. didn't his mama teach him not to slam the door!?
-
Nucks all look out of sync, to put it lightly.
-
Did anyone tell Dom? last time they had an early start, he almost didn't make it out there. Have they said who's in goal vs. Columbus?
-
that's kind of what I suspected. Luongo is not prone to Cloutier-esque behavior. Thanks for the recap.
-
Edi, did you see the goals? I was watching Dallas and my neighbor was here. She went home. Tired of hockey? Anyway, was Luongo liable on the goals? Judging from who scored them, I'd tend to think not.
-
I haven't forgotten them. Teemu is the key on that team. If the D and the goalie can shut him down, they can handcuff the offense. And keep a man on Niedermeyer at all times. Buffalo is the real threat, IMO. trip trap, trip trap! that sounds like a bad shift of hockey, not a fairy tale line, eh?
-
good thing they have lasik surgery and contacts. Trotz couldn't wear glasses, where would he rest the earpieces? Go, Stars, and thanks!!
-
I seriously do not see what people see in Tootoo. He's a thug. Plain and simple. Avery was a scrappy, nasty little SOB, but he had some heart and character -- or maybe I was biased because he was a Wing?
-
Oh, I don't disagree. I am disappointed at the Wings' showing last night, that's all. And I obviously know Dallas pretty well. They are very predictable. I could have written them a script last night, I knew exactly what they were going to do. It killed me to watch that game, since I knew the outcome before the Wings did. All the Wings had to do was try even a little bit in the third and they would have owned the Stars... seriously. Stars are a wild-card team in the playoffs, if you ask me. They look like crap on paper, but you put them on the ice with a burr under their saddle, and no amount of skill and finesse on the Wings' part will help. Wings will have to play tougher to beat them, but beat the Stars, they can. Just not in 40 minutes... all 60 will be required. Turco can ratchet it up, but he is inconsistent. Smith is a fabulous goalie, and the Stars love him, and play like fiends in front of him. They're not to be taken lightly, although I know you are aware of that, oh, hockeysavyy, HC!!
-
Lang, Draper, Maltby... make a list.
-
Stars beat Nashville 4-2, never took their foot off the gas all night. Outshot Nashville 35-26, in a back to back/road and road game, at that. I am not at all sure they are a great pick for round one versus the Wings.
-
Zidlikcy almost made it 5-2 for Dallas in Nashville, he hit the danged post. Tootoo just got a penalty, roughing, with 2 minutes left. See what you get with 60 minutes of hockey?? W. trueness... I am not the biggest Lilja basher, he has his moments and blocks shots rather well. He certainly isn't the only culprit in turnovers, which quite frankly, will be our downfall if any one thing can be fingered.
-
With Lidstrom out and no Kronner, either, it will be interesting to see what Babs does with Lilja. Perhaps it will be his time to step up and be a force. I can hope, right?
-
Nashville won't get back into this game, don't worry. Dallas doesn't understand the word quit, remember last night? They're flying right now and giving the goalie a chance to stop whatever chances get through.
-
funny... Dallas doesn't look a bit "tired" in the back to back game in Nashville tonight. Nor do they look as though they are happy with a two goal lead with 10 minutes left.
-
Poor Kronner. Ow ow ow ow ow!!! I wonder if that kid will ever get through a season without something breaking? How many times have you seen guys get hit that hard and skate away? Plenty. Not our Nik Jr. As for Nick "Sr." - he will not be playing tomorrow vs. CBJ. If the WIngs don't show up for 60 minutes, whoever is in goal will get another "L." I am not liking our injured list much. Again.
-
I've looked, but nothing much else. I think Kronner will have to change his style of play or something, if he wants to stay in the NHL. Or, maybe he's getting all the injuries out of the way early in his career. He has no luck, that is for sure.
-
I agree. I won't be surprised to see the Sabres to come out of the East and go on to win the Cup this season. Whoever faces them in the finals will have to play 60 whole minutes of hockey. 60 minutes, not 40, 48, or 50.
-
sorry, server hiccups, double post, ignore me at least once when that happens with me, OK?
-
I do hope and pray this game was not the Wings finishing strong. Looked like the opposite, to me. No excuses, it was a waste of some great individual efforts, the team did not stay focused and did not play the entire 60 minutes. They will have to in the playoffs, so why not get in the habit now?
