explains a lot though, depending on how you look at it. Home cooking is the best - with heaping double rations for the refs?
-
hey, Dom was just trying to help out and sell a penalty the way the Flames have been the entire game. The rest of the Wings aren't any good at attracting whistles, as you know. The Flamers assistant coach says the refs will probably "sneak" a penalty call in on them in the third. Along with the other four they should have already had called against them, you mean?
-
He forgot. Too busy saving their butts for them the entire game... Zetterbird, that is too danged cute!
-
we have calls going in only one direction tonight, and it's not in our favor. No calls on Calgary. Even they must be slightly embarrassed by now, don't you think? We are very lucky to only be down by a goal right now. Very.
-
why don't we just play a man short the rest of the game, so the refs can get some rest?
-
still perfect! I am in awe of Calgary. 5 PPs to 0 for the Wings.
-
stop typing what I am thinking, will you, please?
-
they wore their whistles out on the Wings in the first, I think.
-
Wings? Much better!! Calder is a beast. I love this guy....
-
maybe the guys are emulating Nick when they shoot from the blueline and try to score, ya think? Only difference is, he's good at it.
-
on a positive note, the Calgary announcers are not horrible.
-
thank you, Calder. Why isn't anyone in the slot to clear rebounds, when there are any? Just asking out loud here...
-
someone said earlier in the thread that the cage was obstructive and the chin guard was in his way. Oddly, that same combo hasn't seemed to bother Dom much, has it? 'Course, he's used to it...
-
I've seen two late hits w/ no puck in play, maybe three, so far. No call on Calgary, of course.
-
Flip got his block knocked off, Stuart kneed him in the head as he went to check. Flip in the lockerroom. Nice action near the Flames net, but we still have gotten no real breaks tonight. Too busy PKing... very familiar, eh?
-
Draper touches Iginla (the nerve) and get the penalty. Here we go... PK
-
way to answer, Dats! Now, if the refs will just put the whistles in their pockets for a little bit...
-
it could certainly have been worse, without the old goat in goal. The Wings better wake up and quit letting Calgary run all over them, DATS!!
-
hopefully that's what DIMF meant. see, there... oh, goody.... second underway. Refs, ready those whistles!!
-
he made a good stop on one rush, caught his own rebound. That's about it. The rest he saw easily.
-
they can all do that, just Sammy and Lilja are better at it than most.
-
well, Dats tried one anemic wraparound-ish move and Calder was right there a couple of times, but the puck never got to him. In the meanwhile, Calgary is using the PPs to their best advantage and throwing quality shots at Hasek. Kipper is gonna have an easy night of it, if the next 40 look like the first 20. We know the Wings can do better than this, and one hopes they will in the second. They can't possibly miss Cheli that bad.
-
agreed. Unfortunately. Maybe Mr. I needs to have a chat with the Wings?
-
"and the Flames, after 20 minutes, lead Hasek 1-0." So say the Calgary announcers... pretty much, they are playing Dom out there. I haven't even noticed anyone in a Wings sweater except Dats and Calder. Oh, yeah, and the guys sitting in the box half the period. Gee, this is fun.
-
he is, that's why it's not 4-0 right now. Ping! Did you hear the Flames hit the post? I wish the Wings would even get that close to a goal....
