A playoff line for the Preds: two Divers and a Coward? Forsberg, Kariya, and Tutu? I kid, Preds lurkers, I kid!!
-
Preds plan tonight: be little snots and draw bad penalties all night long. They've done nothing of substance except elbow to Lilja's head and getting under Bootland's skin and making him go to the box. Dangit! good chance for Nick.
-
I love Mickey and Ken... what a difference from last night.
-
Bad luck, Erat... and Mickey... It's Arnott, not Arnett.
-
I always miss the good stuff. Glad he's having fun, he loves being a Wing, for shore. Here we go, CI feed just let me in... there's Flip!
-
Five players in the top 10 (Hasek, Lidstrom, Zetterberg, Datsyuk, and Schneider) if you don't count Hudler in the rookie category. Schneider is listed 4th amongst Dmen, by the way. No wonder no one likes us.

It would suit me fine if Dom didn't play tonight. If he hadn't been injured last week, he would have played both of these games back to back, so it's just due to circumstances that Ozzie got to play at all last night. He did his job and was great at it, besides. Nashville might be concerned to see him back out there again tonight, short term memory-wise. Dom, on the other hand, has only won both games he's played vs Nashville, one 3-0 and the other 5-3. Not good enough! I don't imagine Nashville is exactly thrilled to see Dom in net, either. I wish Vokoun was playing tonight for obvious reasons, but I said last night we'd get Mason instead. No brainer, but dang it anyway! As for the Boston game, name me one player who played any better than Dom did in that sloppy uninspired game? This team never plays well against an inferior team, so I hope Dom gets the same effort in front of him tonight that Ozzie got last night. Piece of cake, if so. Dom will be ready to go, don't worry about it. Unless he's playing through an injury and I certainly hope that's not the case.

Filppula, Filippula. Makes me think of "Finiculi-Finicula" I mostly hear it pronounced "Fil-PU-la" with the U pronounced "oo," as in Booter. That doesn't mean it's how he says it, though. Finnish names are difficult for us English speakers, apparently.

I am so addled this morning, I was reading the sidebar on a game report and saw "Zetterberg (back)" and thought for split second it meant, Zetterberg's back tonight. Help me? BTW, I don't think there's any controversy regarding Dom and Ozzie. They get along perfectly well, apparently; it's the fans who seem to want one to fail and the other to be the star. Take your pick which is which depending on the one arguing the point. Dom will be fine tonight, if the Wings lose (or win), I doubt it will be because of who is in goal.
-
The Wings will come out invigorated, ready to win at home after falling flat vs. Boston. 5-1 Wings, Lang with a hattie! Hey, I can dream. Dom will be Dom (hooray!), employing all his best WWF moves tonight. Chris Doughtery..eerr, I mean Mason, in goal for the Preds. Vokoun can't handle the Wings. Let's hope Mason can't either. EDIT: wow, what's with all the downer stuff so early in the morning? Why not have a little faith in the guys?

I don't think Nashville is over-rated. Even though there are currently three players, at least, whom I absolutely detest on the team, I can concede to talent when I see it. You don't get to the top spot and stay there (for now) by being over-rated, IMHO. Ask the Red Wings, if you don't believe me!

some local rag in St. Louis, I forget the source. It made me laugh, just like the Hassock thing. You'd think they could get something as simple as the goalie's name right.
-
was Oswald in goal tonight? Hassock and Oswald, the sexy tandem in Detroit!
-
I cracked up at the look on his face when some ya-hoo threw a dead fish on the ice in front of him. Flip is the man!
-
we should get different officials tomorrow night, yes? That could be good or bad, depending on who they are.
-
did seem so. I expected the Wings to do this, after such a dismal game on Sunday. In addition, they were playing a top team, so they played up speed, to win it. Rather than do their usual trick of playing sloppy against a less superior team. I guess that's a good thing, right?
-
why?
-
Mason W 24 | GAA 2.37 | SV% .926. Does not have Red Wings in his head. Vokoun W 22 | GAA 2.41 | SV% .920. Does (see above). I know who I would put in goal tomorrow, if I were Trotz. So, I hope it's Vokoun, but I bet it's Mason.
-
That isn't the plan, unless Hasek is injured. And I haven't heard anything about that. Vokoun looked very out of synch tonight, as he generally does vs. the Wings. I have little doubt we won't see Vokoun back to back, esp. after tonight's outing.
-
who wants to bet me we get Mason tomorrow night for Nashville?
-
yes, please... I have Center Ice, Dats, and they cut the feed off the instant the game is over. We don't see pre or post game either. I would be interested to hear if Babs has some choice words, too.
-
I would have said #1 Calder (1G, 2A) and just plain kick-ass #2 Rexie (1G 1A) behind Calder's on Lang's goal #3 Ozzie because he deserves it
-
Wings prevailed (more than) with 18 minutes of penalties. That's like playing an entire period shorthanded! I can't imagine that anyone would disagree that the ice was tilted by the refs in Nashville's direction.
-
Calder, Lang, Flip as 1, 2 and 3, if you're the Nashville pundits.
-
oh, sweetness... Flip, allll alone!! I love this!
