shh, they're tied in this game and had managed to stay a point or two ahead of the Wings so far. It's all part of the plan.

They played dreadfully in front of Hasek just last Sunday. So far I'd say any brain-cramps out there have nothing to do with Ozzie, dumb penalty notwithstanding (like Hasek did on Sunday, too). Ozzie's done more than his share in the first, wouldn't you say?

don't forget out-reffed. Not to say all of the calls on the Wings were suspect, but the Preds are perfect? Maybe things will even out in that category next period.

4 SOG for the Wings all perry-odd. Seriously. Hang on, Ozzie... almost over.

actually, the jerk said it was a result of his going to Detroit schools, and that's why he can't spell. Wow. Are we that stupid toward other teams? I guess so. I love the way Lebda has fit into this team.

good PK, not harm no foul. Ozzie managed to stop that one, somehow. whew! could have been a flukey goal.

the refs forgot it's not Dom out there, and penalized Ozzie by mistake. If they don't score on the PP, it's no biggie.

me, too. How did poor Nashville wind up with the syncronized diving team from Colorado on their bench? Preds missing Hartnell, Nichols and Forsberg... Wings missing about twice as many guys. Edit: Preds cameraman shows a fan with a hand-lettered sign saying: "Grandpa Chelios, I brought your underwear." I might be offended, if I had any idea what that means...

I think the key word in your post is "everyone's"... I finally gritted my teeth and fast-forwarded through the Boston/Wings mess on Sunday. No one played well in a Winged wheel. It isn't conceivable that everyone can play that badly again. Not likely, I should say! I have a good feeling about the game tonight and tomorrow, as well. Austin weather sucks, today, BTW. Congrats on the lovely day, Michigan - you deserve it! This cold, grey, rainy day puts me in the mood to give the Preds a good "soaking" tonight, so help me out, Wings!

I expect a better effort all around tonight. If the Wings had all been present and accounted for, and played that badly, they still would have lost on Sunday even though they were home, IMO. Ozzie's got a little momentum, having gotten the SO win last game with the Preds. So maybe, if the Wings don't do stupid things like they did Sunday and Ozzie is flawless... Last game was a team loss, let's hope this one is a team win! As for health, Nashville is not much better off. Scott Hartnell (Foot); Steve Sullivan (Back); Scott Nichol (Thumb); and of course the perennial boo-boo-king himself, Petey Forsberg. I think we have as good a chance at winning as the Preds, although adrenaline plays a part here. If the Preds show up and want it more than the Wings, we're done.

Yep, it used to be this way between the Wings and Avs - every game as the biggest yet, and it tended to be true. It's ironic that somehow Forsberg is involved in both. Or I should say, is on the roster in both situations, vs. Wings. Petey is infamous for taking season-long vacations during the regular season, only to magically appear, healthy and hale, for the playoffs. Sometimes that works out for him, and sometimes (2002) it doesn't. Best of luck, L11. May the best team win tonight! I think I am going to try the old "1270 on the internet" (if I can get it to work) with Center Ice video feed, sound muted. The last game was insufferable with these commentators. But amusing at times, too, if you took in stride and just put up with how ridiculous they were. I do wonder if they ever listen to themselves.

    Homer's a "big tipper"

http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app/?service=page&a...rticleid=290110 nice article featuring Tomas Holmstrom's contributions as an elite "front of the net" player.

I forgot about them, or rather blocked them from memory. Aflac, the GDT is great as usual. Poor Bobbert, but that's just gold. I don't have a great feeling about this game, but the Wings have to play better than they did on Sunday. I can't conceive that they won't, just a bad game all around. Better tonight, 5-4 Wings win in regulation.

    NHL.com is at it again.

The origin of "Rex" still escapes me. But I love it. Bart Lebda, plays with Rex sometimes, right?

    NHL.com is at it again.

I saw that yesterday, and it made me laugh. It's a silly mistake, for sure. NHL.com must have brought in a temp or a rookie to do recaps for the weekend or Spring Break, or something. Hassock. You'd think after 14 years they could get it right, even if announcers still can't pronounce Hah-sheck.

3/11 GDT: Bruins @ Red Wings

:rotflmao: Oh, my gosh, ya'll HAVE to see this. It's my pet peeve (well, one of them) that announcers can't say "ha-shek" when they pronounce Dom's name. Now they can't spell it either?? http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?service=page&am...&gameType=2 "Boston got on the board first, 5:26 into the game, when Sturm's shot from the top of the right circle along the boards beat Hassock, who was screened." Somehow... NHL.com just lost a bit of their credibility with me. Someone let their 13 year old kid write the re-cap today, or what?

3/11 GDT: Bruins @ Red Wings

Hi! Well, I missed the game, and am rather glad I did! Wow. Sounds like Dom had a bad day, as did several other Wings like Dats - he caused a goal against us, really? And Nick - who also caused a goal??? but has a "stick like a serpent?" What? I just skimmed through the GDT so my viewpoints on the game are only coming from that angle. Dom knows better than to act like an average goalie, or act as if he's human when he's on the ice. I think he know he's supposed to be perfect every outing, but maybe he just forgot today or something. Or maybe there was some bad luck, bad bounces, bad calls, and a couple of goals Dom should have had involved? As usual, Hasek doesn't lose just a little bit, he does have a bad game, he does it BIG!! No worries, he'll be mad at himself, and will come back next game and be stellar, if history is a teacher. Not a problem. **** happens. For any who think Dom doesn't get criticized, re-read the thread. He's old, slow, bad, ought to disappear, etc.... plenty of bashing, along with the usual opposing posts defending him. I do think a few folks in the this forum are harder on Ozzie than they are on Dominik, but Dom hardly escapes unscathed when he's off his game. Let's see, we're missing Zetterberg, Markov, Cleary, Bertuzzi, and Franzen. And it sounds like we were "missing" several other guys who were actually out there on the ice, just "missing" in action. I hate day games and usually expect a loss, really. I am not sure why I feel that way, it just seems to happen more often than not. But, as Babs once said, "The other team was ready, so why weren't we?" Thanks to those of you who tried to mediate today's goalie war (as if there ought to be one at all between Dom and Oz) and to those who tried to be fair in the face of a disappointing loss today. I will refrain from any direct comments on the penalty on Dom for the trapezoid infraction. My God, I am tired of that - some officials call him when he's within 20 feet of the zone, I swear. I'll let ya know what I think for sure when I have a chance to watch the recording, but I automatically assume it's bogus, since I see other goalies do it all the time, with no call. Tiresome, esp. when the PP results in a gimme goal for the bad guys. Anywhoot, crappy loss, but there go my Wings bumbling the game vs. a less capable team, again. I was not surprised at the loss, but was kinda hoping they would manage a squeaker. Not to be. Kira was at the game today, with her best friend, Ellen, who is a Bruins fan. Ellen is happy. She owes Kira dinner (because the B's won), but I am sure Kira would trade free dinner for a "W" today. Nashville, here we come!
