How can they have Center Ice, but it's not being broadcast? On hold for 20 minutes now....

3/2 GDT: Blackhawks @ Red Wings

So maybe I am cursing at the hold message on Time Warner's service desk needlessly? I have no signal on any channel, so maybe someone at TW hates hockey? **goes online to order Stars tickets for next weekend, since I don't have HD. ** No hockey for me. Great....

    Chelios rests..."again".

and taking Dom with them? Now, there would be a sight!!

    Chelios rests..."again".

I am choosing to think that the Wings are unconcerned with winning the division, and that they are systematically resting players who are tired or have a little tweak, not wishing to overuse them or risk further injury. That said, when was the last time Cheli or Dom ever voluntarily skipped a game? The answer is never in either case. So, here's hoping the absences are on the advice and insistence of team managers. Not panicking, just a little concerned... will be more so if they don't show up next week.

Have fun! Sorry no Cleary for you... he's still out, I think. Hank, Dom and Cheli will all be back shortly and then, look out, Nashville!!

If anyone utters the verboten words tonight, I am going to hunt them down. Last game, people posted it with 1 minute left and Dom lost the **** *** :flamingmad: As if it matters, really... but you just don't do that, especially when the game is seconds from conclusion.

Hasek Out 2 Games With Thigh Injury

Have a little faith. Let's not start the Hasek-bashing yet. Dom's done everything humanly possible to stay healthy and he's done well. There's no need to panic, he'll be back.

the thread title is meant to be sarcastic. In other words, he's kidding...

3/2 GDT: Blackhawks @ Red Wings

Well, Dom and Cheli are out, but it's OK... just more evidence that the Wings are being careful with injuries. I haven't heard anything specific about Cheli, but I hope he's OK and just resting. Go, Ozzie, shut down the Hawks! Tell J Willee "NO!" I'm looking forward to maybe seeing Howard play on Sunday. I've never seen him on the ice, so I hope he gets to play.

Why I Wish The Wings Got Belfour Instead of Hasek

I can't believe I hadn't heard the story about Belfour and the jr team "drug" incident. I seem to remember more than once in Dallas when Eddie was a mess and tried to play anyway, and the Stars PR would say he had the sniffles and hit the "NyQuil" too hard before the game. Um. Yeah, right!

Hasek Out 2 Games With Thigh Injury

Me, too, HC! Go, Ozzie!!! Dom is just keeping Bert and Hank company, so they can all come back together and terrify the rest of the NHL. In the meanwhile, we get to see Howard play.

Why I Wish The Wings Got Belfour Instead of Hasek

Dominik wants to play hockey more than anything else, and he's set out to prove it. He's been a model citizen this season, on and off the ice, so no one can find anything to criticize. I can't imagine what anyone could find to gripe about where Dom is concerned this season. What amazes me is folks who still harp on his potential for injury. With the prep and dedication Dom has put in this season to be at his best and to guard against injury, I'd say the odds of his going down injured are no worse or different than any other player on the team. Living here in Stars Land and knowing how Eddie behaved in Dallas, I wasn't surprised when they cut ties with him. The Turtle Creek Billion $$ Bribe debacle was amongst the last straws, I guess. With Turco chomping at the bit to be #1, it turned out to not be such a bad decision for the Stars. Just a point of clarification: The 1999 Stanley Cup was awarded to the Stars by the NHL and Gary Bettman, not won legitimately. No Goal! And no, I'll never get over it.

    Future of Wings goaltending

this doesn't exactly fit here, but I don't like starting random threads... especially about goaltending. Just for fun, do ya'll think Dom will tie or break his personal best win record (41, with the Wings in 01-02) this season? With 18 games left, and 33 wins currently, I can see him taking a run at it this season. I can't believe there are only regular season 18 games left for us. Where did the season go??

3/2 GDT: Blackhawks @ Red Wings

poor Lalime! but I hope you're right. Zetterberg and Bert score from the press box as well. Please, nobody say the S-O words when there is less than a minute left to play this time, OK???

    Lets Play Mike Babcock!

I agree, I think Lebda is one of the most talented young players I've seen in a while. I know he was in GR for a couple of years but I'd never seen him play til this season.

    Lets Play Mike Babcock!

I like these. Good job!! So, where do we put Lebda? I like him. No opinions on D? I am interested in your opinion.

Bertuzzi impresses Babcock in first practice

I agree, and am glad a lot of other people feel the same. Bert was never the enemy to me, but I feared his skills vs. the Wings. I worried about facing both Bertuzzi and JovoCop, at that time, anyway. Add in those onion-twins (who are scary but DO know how to play hockey) and Naslund, the Nucks presented a real threat. If they'd had a goalie in 2002, it could have gotten ugly. But now Bert's ours, and I am pleased, for us and for him. I have no doubt Bert will do everything in his power to help the Wings succeed.

OFFICIAL: Todd Bertuzzi a Red Wing

Donning a winged wheel makes any hockey player look great! Bert looks very handsome* in red, and I am glad he's here. I hope you get to see him play on the 17th, too, Dicksmack!! * I am a girl, I can say that. He looks happy, too.

    Future of Wings goaltending

If Dom doesn't come back next season, I tend to agree that the Wings will look for another short-term goaltender while Howard puts in one more year in GR. Ozzie will be back, but I would predict as the back up again. If they had wanted to hand Oz the reins this season, then Holland would have done it instead of tracking Dom down in the CZ Republic. I don't know the inner workings of the Wings organization, but rather doubt that Babcock would be the "decider" on whether Ozzie is number one. I've also never noticed that he holds any grudge against Oz. I sure wouldn't want Turco as the Wings goalie, but no worries... they love him in Dallas, he's not going anywhere. As for Biron, I didn't see the terms of the deal in Phillie, to see if he would even be available. He's been eclipsed by Miller's play in Buffalo, but certainly seemed to have the chops to take over from Hasek, at one time. If Hasek wants to play and is still able to compete at the same level he has shown all season, whether the Wings win the Cup or not this season, he'll be back. If they do win, Hasek will be asked to return, in all probability. This time, I bet he accepts. I wish he hadn't retired in 2002. I think the Wings might have repeated, if he'd stayed. But we'll never know.
