Well. This was all my fault, obviously. I had to leave at the end of the first, when it was tied 1-1. And look what happened. I haven't had the heart to watch the DVR'd last 40 minutes. Maybe I won't bother. Poor Joey Mac. Even on a very temporary basis, being the #1 ain't as easy as some guys make it look, huh? I am sure he did his best for us. It will be OK, troops!! I will be glued to the game on Wednesday, vs. Dallas. I promise. Bad loo, leaving the poor Wings to fend for themselves. Oh, and having Dom back in the nets won't hurt our chances, either. Let's hope he's back, anyway. Dallas is playing well right now, but they have to know this game did not represent the real Wings. They won't be taking anything for granted, and I know the Wings will come out strong and stay with it all 60 minutes. Go, Red Wings!!

that was very scary, Mac getting run over like that. We're gonna run out of goalies at this rate. Youch.... I have to leave and go pick up my friend at the airport, end of the first. You take care of the Wngs for me, ok, ya'll? I probably will miss the rest of this one. Don't let anyone get hurt! Go, Joey!! Go, Red Wings!!
-
but... they named a trophy after him. Didn't they? j/k Are we going to spend the entire evening on one continuous PK? Looks like it...

Foresbooger sure falls down easy.

Engblom loves the Wings. Thorne says Red Wings fans "don't expect very much." Excuse me? I used to teach Special Ed. Now I work for telephone companies. It's about the same thing, some days.

not that anyone can predict Dom's next move (not me, not even him, I think!), I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him back with Ozzie as backup again next season. Mac's 27, for all that we refer to him as a rookie. If he's going to be back up to the back up again, I would think it would be kinder to trade him in the off season to a team where he gets to play. If it's Dom and Ozzie next season, is Howard ready for call up when needed? I assume so, although I've never seen him play. As for this season, I wouldn't panic yet about a minor boo-boo to Hasek's wrist. Despite the doomsayers like Ted Kulfan this morning, I highly doubt this is a season-ending injury for Dom - don't even understand why anyone would say that. Now Ozzie, I am a little concerned about. Can he come back and will be he able to play up to speed if so. He sure will be "rested" if needed for the playoffs, won't he?

great minds think alike. Ray is a very good goaltender, but he needs to grow up. He can do that, and still keep his personality -- and not be such a thug. Very unattractive!
-
That was completely uncalled for. Not that I am particularly surprised by this. I am not sure three games was enough -- except that it punishes the Sens more than it does Emery, and they undoubtedly do not condone his actions in this case. Emery could have really hurt that guy, so he got off easy, IMO. Ray, Ray...

From Detnews today: Injury update The news on Dominik Hasek 's sore right wrist was mostly good Sunday. Hasek, who didn't dress against Calgary and won't tonight against the Flyers, either, has been taking medication to reduce the inflammation in his wrist that was injured Wednesday against Phoenix. Hasek didn't make the trip to Philadelphia but is expected to join the team for the four-day trip to Dallas and Phoenix. "It feels better today than it did (Saturday), the doctors told me, so we're optimistic he's headed in the right direction," Holland said. "I'd like to think he'll have his equipment on sometime this week. yeah, like... Wednesday in Dallas, I hope?

How fun! Irmk will be thrilled!! I might have to find an excuse to go visit London, just to see this.
-
ditto! Dallas is pretty entertaining this season, better than I expected really. I have tickets next weekend 2/23 to see them square off against Anaheim. That oughta be a hum-dinger! Was it someone in this forum who said if Turco slipped and cracked his head on the ice, Red Wings would spill out? I loved that line.

If the Wings go sleepy for 40+ minutes of this game, ya'll might get to see Howard and Mac, and possibly the zamboni driver in net. Hopefully they are not taking this game lightly... how embarrassing would that be, to get blown out by Phillie? What is up with Ozzie? Good question. Edit: tsn now says Howard tonight, too.
-
it's almost absurd... 14 wins for the season. Wow. Just...wow. Whoever said, don't cheer too loud if you go to the game and cheer for the Wings = good advice. Go Joey Mac!! Go Wings!!
-
It's either Joey Mac or the blue plastic thing vs Phillie. Just kidding. Dom's out at least another game (I expect to see him in Dallas on Weds.) and Ozzie's out indefinitely, no time table for his return. So it's Mac and Howard as back up tomorrow, I'd say. Mac will do fine, but the Wings definitely need to stick with the plan for the full 60 minutes. That let down in the third was just dopey tonight, that goes for all of them including Joey.
-
I think they are saving up for tomorrow night, why risk the top lines when the Flames were gettin' gooney out there? A win is a win. Two points izz goot!!
-
one more to double it would be fun, but we will take this. Joey should have lots of confidence going into the game tomorrow. No problemo! YAY JOEY!!! Lots of lovin' going on out there for the kiddo.
-
yeah, that's my MULE!!! Good on ya, baby!!
-
OK, think the Wings can manage to allow a tie before the end of the perry-odd? That was just sucky. Edi will be please with the score anyway, hope he had fun at Brian Regan, but I am sure he did.
-
sloppy play, Red Wings. 6-3 3 goals on 17 shots for Mac. He could care less what his sv% is, as long as there's a "W" behind his name.
-
Drake and Edi. Where did Edi say he was going? He had something going on tonight... can't recall. 49 SOG? good heavens, it ought to be at least 6-2.
-
and 4rd of all...
-
I wish I was sitting in one of those many empty seats right behind the Wings bench. Has it been mentioned that the Joe needs new music. Bad! Thank God I'm a Country Boy?
-
aw, nuts... Conroy and Freisen. Mac didn't have a handle on that at all. I bet it stands, anyway.
-
you're right, I do recall Iginla gooning it up, and was surprised at someone of his skill doing that. Now that you mention it, I can see them cheapshotting. I love Rhett Warrener but he's kind of known for that, too.
