Maybe I've not been paying attention, but I don't think of Calgary as a cheap-shot team. Yes, they are frustrated, but that was dumb of Stuart... no need to impress your team mates, Brad, you just got there.
-
yee-oouch! Nasty check in the back with a stick on Zatta, by Brad Stuart of all people! I am shocked, he's not that kind of player... what did they teach him in Boston?
-
doesn't look like he will have to do much to get it (11 SOG total so far) but, yes, it's about time.
-
nice stop, Joey!
-
I haven't seen the Wings play like this in weeks, months? They are pressing and shooting actual chances, and driving to the *gasp* net. Babs will tell them, that's Red Wings hockey... Lang on a breakaway, completely alone. And he shoots right into Noodles' chest.

for those who don't post often, the website keels over and dies every time something good happens and more than two people at a time try to post. It's not you. Just wait a few minutes until whatever you wanted to say is no longer relevant and the site will come back. Come on, Z, get a goal on that PP you just earned!!!!
-
that was a bad goal. We will take it! J Willee from Cheli. Goals for everybody!! wooooo~~~~
-
pretty Wings... Irmk, can you see this, or are you listening? I think they like this 3 goal cushion. Just don't like it too much, OK, boyz?
-
how's your toe? You're bleeding Red Wings red, right?? Dammit, Tanguay looks SOOOO pissed!! Retribution is his. Sorry, Mac. That was a nice one, for sure.
-
run up that score, boyz!!!
-
do they say that about other teams when the Wings let down in the first, and let this sort of thing happen? I wonder... I think Calgary looks awful, too, but the goals were not lucky, **nods to Manny**
-
dunno, exactly. I am sure none are as stellar as LGW, however. I only knew about calgarypuck.com because I saw a thread earlier today where Andy Ferrence (himself!) posted a message saying thank you and goodbye to the fans in Calgary. Letsgoblues had a similar site but it got hacked so often , I think they shut it down.
-
I popped over and visited calgarypuck.com board. They seem a very decent bunch... and they sound just like us when the Wings come out like the Flames did that first period. All you'd have to do is change a few player names.
-
they're gonna be feeding the puck to Dats all night, a hattie for 100 would be fabulous, yes? or for Schneider, for 200. But somehow I expect Dats will get there first.
-
Kipper looked bad on two, couldn't help one of them. The goals are as much Calgary's fault as Kippers, but who cares! Mac looks good on the one or two stops he's had to make. Sorry you can't see, Irmk. It may be the beginning of a blow out, but you never know nowdays, do you?
-
Have a seat, Kipper.
-
Calgary is channeling the Wings from the last game vs. the Blues. They look like crap. Yay! Datsyuk needs two more for 100. The Eurotwins march onward!!
-
ya'll are soooo welcome!! I literally just walked in and turned on the game, and Zatta scored. Looooo is in the house! heh! Just kidding, what a nice goal, thank you Kipper!!
-
Depends on which goalie is in, too.
-
I fear for Joey Mac that his best efforts could be in vain again, as the Wings make a true Vezina winner look like a Vezina winner, and go scoreless or maybe get one. On the other hand, perhaps they will reverse the trend of not making not-so-great goalies look great, and light Kipper up, since he really is great. Reverse psychology? I won't be totally surprised by either development.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17085313/ Bill Clement (Hands of Cement) weighs in on Hasek, Babcock and the state of the Wings' D in front of the Dominator. Nothing in here that most of us didn't know, but a nice read anyway. Clement does a better job than most describing what Hasek brings to the Wings aside from simple puck-stopping. Hasek has changed his style of play to a more conservative flavor than in the past, but it's working. So far, so good!

That would be nice, to see Dom back vs. the Stars. I can't go to the game, unfortunately, which pretty much breaks my heart in two. Wings within 400 miles of me and I can't be there? I wish some people would quit being so pessimistic about Hasek being out long term with a minor injury, as if that's likely. I wonder if those fans are hoping for that to happen, or just saying it so they can be righteously indignant about it, if the worst happens? Give poor old Dom a break, willya, please? Not literally, you know what I mean.

Brad Stuart is a very under-rated player. He will be great for Calgary, makes them even more formidible in the playoffs. Everyone take note of the early-ish game time. I will be late, I think, unless I can get home sooner from work than I expect. Bleah to working on Sunday... Later, troops!

I would be OK with Bert coming to Detroit, so long as it doesn't turn out to be another Hatcher-type situation... what a total waste of money and roster space. I would expect the Wings brass to make sure he's healthy and able to play before they sign him, if that is the direction they choose to go. Reason for concern in that vector: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=195617&hubname=nhl Speaking only for myself, I don't think the unfortunate incident with Moore defines Bertuzzi's career. He's done his time and paid the price as determined by the authorities who govern such things. Fans will have feelings, one way or the other, about the guy, no matter what he does or says. I want to see Chelios' reaction to Bert in a winged wheel. They had such a lovely on-ice relationship in the '02 playoffs.
-
If it were closer to the playoffs, I might suspect that it is, rather than his wrist. But I think this is a legitimate report. Hurry back, Dom! I bet we see him back vs the Stars on Valentine's Day.
