pretty close...

it's OK, they're having a love fest for Cujo tonight, trying to see him many times they can day Cujo or Curtis Joseph. They are well into double digits right now.
-
Lang just scored, from Lebda. = On the Yotie goal, six Yotes and Wings were all piled up in the crease in front of Dom. Dom made an initial stop, or two it was hard to see, there was a flurry where someone should have cleared it, didn't. Nolan chipped it in while Dom was being pummelled by two other Yoties... Cujo knocks the net off, no penalty or delay of game.
-
why? He lost. Maybe he's been working on the giant rebound problem, though, so we'll see.
-
of course, they are. The Wings make every other goalie look like a genius. It's a gift. Hasek hasn't been the problem tonight, at least not yet. D leaving the puck in the crease for Nolan to take his time and chip in, while Hasek has two Coyotes beating on him might be a problem. Nagy had half his stick under Hasek's body, and looked like he was jacking up a car! Are you thinking Joey would have been able to do anything about that goal, since Hasek couldn't? Mac is playing tomorrow, by the way.
-
well, I have nothing to say, except I am glad for the announcers that they have Cujo and Owen Nolan to brag about over and over. I shall go do a load of laundry now. That might be more interesting...
-
He's got something to prove. Wings will help him do it! a last minute goal to even things up would be nice. Dreamer that I am....
-
we are... and if the first so far is an indication, we're gonna lose bad!
-
so. This is how it's going to be. Nagy is beating Hasek with his stick while Hasek tries to defend and Nolan chips the puck in. Why didn't a defenseman get the puck outta there?? or do I need to bother asking? Damn.
-
I take it back... all they can talk about is Cujo this and Cujo that. No one is commenting, but then again, there's nothing much to say. I will czech back in a while...
-
I love fsn-detroit... they talk about Red Wings!
-
umm, OK, then. I am watching Buffalo/Ottawa while I wait. Hope the Wings have as much pep as either one of these teams. They are takin' it to each other.

Poor Aflac. Did we make him mad, or did he just go get a life? No prediction tonight, aside from the fact that they will show up playing a lot better than the first perry-odd vs. the Rags on Monday. This trend of waiting for the third to wake up and play is for the birds. I think they are just in a little mid season doldrum, or something, this cannot continue. I would love to see a great effort tonight, and yes, let's run up the score to about 10-0 and make Whine cry.

I wouldn't deny that they can play hockey, they're just kind of...creepy. I am delighted, as a female hockey fan, that the Higher Power of your choice chose to make two of Henrik Ludqvist (twin brother Joel is a soccer star) and Teemu Selanne (identical twin Paavu plays hockey in Finland). Chris and Peter Ferraro, twin offspring of Chicken Parm Ray Ferraro, are not bad to look at,either. The Sedins... well... How shallow am I??

did you all see where Barnaby is probably done in the NHL? Too many concussions... http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20070204/11052141.asp Gleason is known to be a bit on the hysterical side, so this could all be one of his imaginative opinions, but it sounds serious. Blindness is not good.

The "REAL" reason some Detroit fans dislike Fedorov
puckloo39 replied to WingNutt's topic in General
He looks a bit like Legolas in that pic. I loved Feds as a Wing, and wish he had never left. If a hockey player could be called "beautiful," that word described him when he gathered the puck and danced it down the ice, usually to set up or score a goal. He was poetry in motion, when he wanted to be. Hate to say it, but Feds learned the hard way that he needed his comrades in red (wings) to be stellar. I still like him, but I guess we don't need him anymore. -
the thread title made me laugh... ook ook!! Ah, the good old days, when we truly hated the Avs, eh? 486 consecutive games is pretty impressive, no matter who does it.

I prefer the GDT, but that's just me. The only issue with the GDT is the server stalling on us all the time -- usually just as something interesting happens to comment on, and by the time it comes back, who cares?? I did the chat a couple of times, but some of the participants were so off-topic, I logged out and went back to the GDT. Again, just my experience. I would try it again, if you all want to.

http://sports.yahoo.com/rah/news?slug=ap-b...p&type=lgns Sad ending to a valiant struggle by this brave colt. As a born and raised Kentuckian, I watch horse racing and have followed this saga. What a shame, he fought so hard. The owners were going to bring him home to live out a comfortable life on their farm, but it was not to be. This makes me sad, I love animals.
-
I didn't get into the get-well card thing, either, but Barbaro was a beautiful animal, and special. He never lost a race, and finished 6 lengths ahead of the also-ran in the Derby. I am not sure when that has happened before, but certainly not in my memory. The owners and vets treated this horse like a the special athlete he was, and tried to save him, for no other reason than they appreciated and loved him. They knew he'd never race again. He was slated to live out his life, stud or not, in comfort on their horse farm. Anyway, the reported $1.2M raised in a fund for Barbero's care paid for a rehab area, exercise pool, and improvements to the veterinary surgery clinic where he was treated. They did keep him in a special sling, by the way, that's pretty standard for such large animal injuries. Horses sleep standing up because the pressure of their weight when they founder (lie down and can't get up) can cause damage to internal organs. They can lie down, of course, but normally do not when they are well.

true, it took my cable company two years to put OLN (VS) on the digital tier, and it's still not on the analog system her in Austin. If you want hockey, you have to have digital cable in order to get Center Ice, so shell out the bucks! The cable system my friends in Dallas are on doesn't have Versus yet, either. I guess they assume if you live in Dallas, you would only want to ever see the Stars on FSN Southwest, right? Ditto on the ASG, who cares? But as for the future of hockey in the US, they're not making it any easier to draw in new fans when they make the game inaccessible to viewers at large.

SFE: Wings looking at 'star player' by deadline

I'll buy that, I liked Sturm a lot when he was a Shark and think he'd do well in Detroit. -
SFE: Wings looking at 'star player' by deadline

That's what I was thinking, almost to a t. It definitely fits with Kenny's "once a Wing, always a Wing" strategy. Can I have Feds back, too, in that case? -
Completely random, but some of you might enjoy figure skating. Jozef Sabovcik is a friend of mine and he's going to be on TV today (Sunday) in a Kristi Yamaguchi special at 3:00 PM Central time, on NBC. Jozef is the bronze medalist from the 1984 Olympics in Sarajevo (the same year Scott Hamilton won Gold) in men's figure skating. Jozef is still an exceptional athlete and a wonderful person, I've known him for about 10 years. If you enjoy professional skating, or know of Jozef, try and catch the special today. His wife tells me it will be re-broadcast later on, on the Style network, but I never watch that channel. No style, I guess.

I would love to see Feds back. For the same type of deal as Hasek...
