I've been real pessimistic about his return. In fact, I really wonder if he'll ever come back. If he does, how many minutes into the game until he gets hurt again?

I'm not sold on Yzerman as a GM. He hasn't really done that great of a job in Tampa. He's had 3 years to address Tampa's biggest holes, defense and goaltending. He has failed on both fronts, and now Tampa is in a race to the bottom.

Can anyone really count on Helm at this point? He's played maybe 2 games in over a year. Is there any news on his injury? Last I heard he was seeing another specialist.

Exactly. The AHL doesn't prepare these kids for the NHL like it once did. The only way to prepare for the NHL is to play in the NHL. Look at Ericsson's improvement while being in the NHL. Had Smith played in the NHL last year he would be leaps and bounds better than today. The Wings used to be too good for rookies to crack the lineup. I just don't see that as a viable excuse anymore.

I disagree. He looked pretty good for a stretch of about 10 games or so. This game has been very brutal though.
