That makes sense. It's just crazy. He is the exact type of player that Holland and Babcock were whining about for the past 4 years. The fact that he was even available was silly.

I can't buy that. If we offer them bonafide roster players and our #1, that is loads better than unproven draft picks.

A 22 year old 6'5" RHD who plays over 20 minutes a night and scores 40+ points was traded for picks.....for picks??!! Holland, why didn't you throw the 1st, Nyquist, and Pulks at them?

I think it has less to do with Bowman, and more to do with Lidstrom. Lidstrom was the driving force behind a lot of the team's success since at least 2002, and perhaps even since '98. I don't think it's a huge surprise that as he aged and declined the team kept slipping further from cup contention. Now that he's gone, the team is NOT a contender. When you have a guy that plays half the game and makes no mistakes, then you can effectively cover up a lot of other weaknesses.

Duncan Keith is probably the best defenseman in the NHL. That guy is GOOD. Hjalredlkjson is elite, as well. Those 2 seemed to carry them through the SCF. -

I think it was a much better period than last game. They actually had offensive zone pressure. If they can tighten it up just a touch more then they will be setting themselves up nicely for the W. -
It'd be nice if they could play anyone in the Central Division.

So he's at least terrible? Honestly I don't think Z is the problem. He can't carry the team anymore, but he's still effective.

I disagree with this. It's not the D's fault that the forwards constantly turn over the puck. It's not the D's fault that the forwards can't forcheck. It's not the D's fault that the forwards can't make, or take a pass to save their life. It's not the D's fault that the team can't win a faceoff this month. The D is weak, no doubt about it, but it's far from the only problem.

There is almost nothing positive about that game other than Mrazek played very well. Defense sucked, offense sucked, passing sucked, faceoffs sucked. Sheesh, something's gotta give.

Seriously, what the f*** do the Wings practice every week? Passes up the middle of the D-zone, and neutral zone drop passes? It apparently isn't passing or offensive drills.

Well that was very predictable. Can't hit, shoot, pass, win faceoffs...this team really isn't good at anything.
