That article is extreme but it could have some truth to it. Crosby himself isn't hurting team. But his bloated salary certainly is. $9 million dollars for Crosby? If Crosby's worth is really $9 million, then Zetterberg and Dats should be making $9+ million /yr. Penguins are paying 2 - 2.5 million more because of all the 'hype' he gets. Crosby is overrated big time. But I'd take him on this team for the price of one Hossa or Lidstrom. Crosby's not hurting the Pens, his value-vs-salary is. He's overpaid.

In fairness, the Wings played really good at times. The better part of the 2nd period and 3rd was great. I blame this loss on lack scoring finishers (their goalie is the hottest in the league and he showed why) and our PK misses Kronwall. The refs did favor the preds with calls/non calls. They called Homer for a weak hook and then let Preds hook, clutch and trip all game long with no penalties. It was one sided. Despite the score, it's another game Wings should have won.. and had they had one element (one of Kronwall, Franzen or Flip), we'd likely had walked away with 2 pts.

Losing Kronwall is a huge blow. Not only is he our 2nd PK'ing dman, our PP quarterback, he was solid 5-on-5 and was good at carrying the puck into the zone. This injury stings worse than any of the others.

How about Drapes centers Bert and Holmer. And have Dats centers Helm and Eaves... just for fun.

I didn't mind Stuart with meech, but lebda with Ralfi was brutal. Ralfi needs to step up his game.

Injuries are showing and the officials were brutal. They missed multiple tripping, hooking and obstruction penalties. Yet they called that weak one on Holmstrom? The call on Bert was legit... but the hooking call on Holmer was BS. Then they let Preds get away real hooks. Bert was a good tonight even though he is still snake bitten. I think Babs should mix up the 1st line. Miller looks great on the 2nd line, but I'm sure it's more of a shake up move than anything. Dats line needs a shake up. Ralfi is brutal. He's not playing to his potential, he seems very lazy and uninterested in hockey. Isn't there a clause in the contract that states he must play to the best of his abilities? Because hasn't been playing good at all. I see everyone is being hard on Ericsson, Lebda and Meech.. But the real problem I see is a 6 million dollar defensemen playing like a 3/4 million dollar 6th dman. I'm not happy with him at all. I love the Helm / Eaves / Draps line, but they really don't seem like a threat. Why not try Eaves on the first line and put Bert on the 3rd or 4th line? It might give him a reality check. Plus he'll be up against less skill oppositions 3rd/4th liners and it might help rebuild his confidence.

If Helm was to ever turn into a mad goal scorer, then we'd lose him because there is no way the Wings would be able to afford a Helm type skater that can bury 25-30 goals per year. If he stays at 15 goals per year, we can afford him. This thread only exists because Red Wings lost so many goal scorers and points producers from long term injuries. Helm shouldn't be the player expected to make up the goals lost. Helm is a great PKer, energy guy that will wear down the opposition... and even piss them off with his strong skating and work ethics. To put up 25+ goals shouldn't be expected from him, though nice if it does happen.

Really? Wings don't chant "Chicago Sucks" while at a Wings/Rangers game, for example. Atleast not that I know of. Can you point out of Wings' fans chanting "___ sucks" while playing a different team? I'd love for you to show it to me if it does exist. I've been at the Joe before and I watch every game on tv. I have never heard Wings fans chant against a team they are not playing, ever.

That's right. All the players need to step up with all the injuries. I don't understand why 'Mors' can't get that. Holland didn't anticipate on Franzen, Flip, Kronwall and Williams all being out at the same time... So it's only realistic to expect players to step up in their absence. But out of players like Helm, Abby, May, Eaves, Malby, Draper, Cleary, Miller, and etc expected to start scoring big goals, I would think Bert would be the next 'go to' guy in line. Hell, he's playing with Pavel freakin' Datsyuk for crying out loud. Bert is still young; the perfect age for players in their prime. Why is it unrealistic that some of us want him to step up. Everyone is expecting Helm, Eaves, Draper, Malby to step up, why is it a cardinal sin for wanting Big Bert to follow suit? I agree, Bert's confidence is at an all-low. But I know he still has the big bert we all come to know in love is in there waiting to break out. Mors, clearly I am not a very good Red Wings fan for wanting this team to do well in the absence of our key players. How un-Red Wing of me!

That's not true. Just a couple weeks ago there was like 4 active Penguin related topics on pg 1. This thread was dead and on page 2 or 3. Guess who bumped it... You guessed it, a Chicago fan. I found out why they come here, it's because their forum doesn't get much traffic and it appears to be dead over there. But on their first page they do have two active Wings threads. The come here because they want to praise. Pure and simple. EDIT: Lol. Hawk fans even chant "Detroit Sucks" when they are playing other teams, not the Wings. Lol. Call me classless for saying this, but I've always been a Bert fan. He was one of the most dominating power forwards in the game before his incident. I think Bettman was too hard on him. I think Moore is the gutless prick, not Bert. Bert was doing what a good hockey player should do. Revenge for a team mate and friend. I would do the same thing for any of my friends and I wouldn't apologize, nor lose sleep over it. f*** Moore! Dude, If read the thread you'll see that I already wrote 3 or 4 times that I recognize Hawks are playing good hockey right now. What else do you want me to say/do? Do you want me to come help set up their cup parade now that they won 7 games? Should I be jumping around screaming "Hawks are the champs, Hawks are the champs"? I don't even get this excited when Wings win 7 game (or even 9 or 12 games in a row), it's just what good hockey teams are suppose to do. If I blew a wad everytime Wings go on 7 or 9 game winning streaks, I'd be beyond sterile. They do it every freakin' year. That said, I actually do predict (now that the Wings have all these key injuries now and don't have the fire power stop them) that San Jose, Caps or Chicago will win the Presidents trophy. But when playoffs starts, we'll see who's really the men and the boys. So you claim that Blackhawks do have their own board.... I love him! He helped us make it to the finals last year. I love players that contribute significant goals for the Wings! I hope he does play for team Canada, because I'm rooting for USA. EDIT: If Seabrook is a top 10 then Kronwall should be the top 3 in the league. His best season was 07/08 playing only 65 games with 35 points and +25 (in 2009 Kronwall had 51 points). In comparison, Seabrook's best year was last year with 82 games played and only 26 points with a +23. I'll take Kronwall any day of the week.

Red Wings are only 6 points back with a game in hand, and they're keeping it this tight with nearly an AHL lineup and depth.

I stated above, I'll eat crow for Hawks winning back-to-back against bottom feeders. But I expect that poster to be on LGW's after Hawks get knocked out of the playoffs. I doubt he'll show face when they lose. Coming to a Wings forum to bump a thread on pg 2 seems desperate, hence this Hawks' fan is already planning the parade party. I don't sniff around opposition boards, so I can't understand why they hang out. Hell, maybe blackhawks don't even have a forum, it's been like 50 years since they won anything. Maybe Bettman should award you guys with a message forum since you won back-to-back games against bottom feeders. Get.r.done.bettman. Give these Hawkies their own, personal message forum.
