Yeah no doubt. I would love for Detroit to win 6 out of every 10 games for the rest of the season. They would finish with 114 points with 54 wins. I hope we continue to suck this bad! People are crying because we lost 2 road games out of 10. Lol. Only on LGWs.

...and the winner goes to,,,, "High & Wide"

USA's "B" would easily beat Canada's best "A" team they could ever ice during 09/10 WJC. USA is the new kid on the block. Canada is a far 2nd. usa-mops-the-floor-with-canada.gif

Whelp, I guess it's about time for us to find a new NHL hockey team to cheer for....
-
That's huge. How'd they sneak that in?

Even elite players have slump/off years. Even the late/great Stevie Yzerman had off years, guess what sport, he bounced back. Imagine if this message forum existed back in 1994/95, this forum would have an epic melt down. Yzerman is known to score 58 to 65 goals, then slump to 36 goals for TWO-YEARS COMBINED. Wow, even the best player in the world had a slump. The end is coming! The end is coming! OMG/OMG/OMG - Panic! Panic!

Your roster leaves a lot of available cap money on the table, unless guys like Helm, Abby, Stuart, Kronwall and Howard get big raises. I'm sure Kronwall is going to get a nice pay raise since other defensemen in his caliber are getting paid well ala Duncan Keith. So it's hard to tell. But one thing is for sure, Holland is allowed to spend the money and he isn't afraid to spend it to complete the roster. A lot really depends on the cap space available, too. I'm not sure we'll see Ferraro and Tatar here in 2 or 3 years either. They're still very young and Wings like to develop their kids before putting them in the NHL. So Holland will need to fill those holes. It's hard to say.
-
That's because we're in 9th place outside looking in - with over $12 million dollars worth of injuries. We should have Ericsson back by Thursday *crosses fingers* and Kronwall back by the time we play Chicago or Washington *crosses fingers and toes*. I think Detroit will walk away with 8 to 10 points out of those 6 games. Doubt they'll sweep 'em, though.

Lucky for us Red Wings don't play Islanders very often. They seem to have our number.
-
You are correct about not playing them in 2008. We played them in 2009 and lost 2-0 and rolled on to the finals. Red Wings beat Islander the only game we played them in 2007 4-3 OT on January 30, 2007.
-
Another fun fact. The last two times Red Wings lost to the Islanders, they rallied to the finals in the playoffs. You heard it first here.

You can't handle what I have. It's called optimism, and it's not for the faint of heart. Pessimism is for gutless cowards. Chew on that for awhile. Okay that sounded more hash than intended, sorry. Now go grow a pair.

Does Meech have any trade value? He's young and still has plenty of potential. I'd like it if Holland trades him for Tavares from Islanders or maybe Victor Hedman from Tampa Bay. Seems like a fair trade to me. No seriously, can we atleast trade him for Havlat? They both play about the same number of games per year.
-
Is 6 points out of 10 possible from a grueling road trip bad? I don't think so. Above .500 with this depleted roster is a miracle, really.
-
Wings didn't bring their 'A' game tonight. Oh well, atleast Wings didn't lose to an West team tonight, the sting would have been worse. We'll be okay once he get some guys back. Glad Ericsson is playing Thursday, I really don't want to see either Janik, Meech or Lebdah anymore.
-
You'd think having brothers together on the same team would spark a friendly competition. Especially for for the one on waivers.
-
I certainly hope Vancouver make lots of noise. These bad calls are unacceptable and, as a professional hockey league, we should demand higher standards.
-
Off topic, but what team does Bettman want to win the cup this year? His Penguins got the cup last year, I'm thinking he might want to mix it up a little. Maybe Blackhawks?
-
I don't know that the ref said anything to Burrows about "getting him back", but watching the replay it's an obvious bad call. Officiating is just horrible and I would like to see refs getting fined and/or lose their job. A message needs to be sent for all this poor officiating.
-
I'm glad it didn't go into OT but Nucks got hosed with a couple awful penalties towards the end of the game when Preds scored. Crowed did a beautiful chant after Preds score on the questionable penalty. "REFEREEING SUCKS!" "REFEREEING SUCKS!" "REFEREEING SUCKS!" I know how it feels when refs decide a game. Not good.

What's the recourse going to be? I bet nothing. It's gong to be swept under the rug just like Malkin's instigating against Zetterberg in the playoffs. Gonchar probably won't get a suspension for his cheap head shot on Clutterbuck tonight either.
-
Anyone have the video in question?
-
In regards the Sharks / Kings game tonight.. Go Sharks!
-
My god Gonchar just took a cheap headshot to Clutterbuck (sp) and Clutterbuck is heading to the dressing room. What a cheap f'ing shot by Gonchar. Suspension worthy. P.S. my dvr isn;t real time, so I don't know if he returns yet

I have to say, Havlat is an impressive player.
