This is great news. Can't wait till Kronner and Ericsson are both back! Then we can start looking like an NHL team again. I wonder how a Flip/Dats/Zetterberg line would look with Bert/Abby/Holmer on the second line. Not a permanent solution, but just to see the big 2nd line.

Cool story, bro.
-
So is he or isn't he a stud? Make up your mind.
-
Yes he did. He's got a rap sheet for being contradictive on this forum.
-
Whoa, I have to quote this post before you try to edit it. Lol. Classic! With all your Franzen and Datsyuk hate, maybe you should change teams you root for. I heard Chicago is looking for a few more bandwangon fans. They need to continue that trend to fill their quota.

he sure ain't no McCarty or Yzerman. Mr. Invisible did what he does best when it truly matters. Disappears. Hossa was a disappointment for the Penguins too, he had a chance to pull off a McCarty in Game 6 to force a game 7. He just didn't/couldn't. Why? Because he's not a playoff performer. Johan Franzen is. Holland made the right choice.
-
I'll bite. I'm glad Hossa was here, he was fun to watch in the regular season even though he frustrated the hell out of me in the playoffs. I was hoping he was the real deal when it mattered the most and I was hoping he was hungry since he lost it all with Penguins the year prior. He was a disappointment, now he's your curse . That said, I was bit concerned that Holland might re-sign Hossa over Franzen. I was so glad when he re-signed Franzen. Now Wings will win the cup several more times and for many more years to come to continue the HockeyTown tradition and the Red Wings dynasty.

If Hossa is such a playoff beast, then why doesn't he have a Stanley Cup ring? He did not, could not, or just refused to elevate his game when it matters the most to give his team a chance to win Lord Stanley. He expects Franzen and Zetterberg or Malkin and Crosby to do all the work so he can enjoy the fruits of their labor. An elite player will step up when called upon. Hossa did not. Oh, and as far as Datsyuk goes, his Stanley Cup rings are plugging his ears, he couldn't hear you. He won the cup the year prior and Hossa did not, you'd think Hossa would at the very least be a bit more hungry than Datsyuk, no?
-
So NHL should hand Hossa a Stanley Cup ring then? That'd be a nice gesture and one lovely consolation prize for him. Jiri Hudler had almost as many points as $7.5 million (no show) Marián Hossa. Elite players step up. Hossa does not. Franzen, Zetterberg and Cleary were all better than $7.5 million Mr. No Show Marián Hossa. I expect Bertuzzi to outplay Hossa in the post-season for a fraction of the cost.

But is Holmer going to resign? If so, for how much?
-
Who's 'Homer'?
-
This loss just makes the Kings and the Sharks games all that more important.
-
Hopefully Sharks aren't the best offensive minded team when we play them Saturday.
-
I don't know why Lebda or Meech would be in over Janik when Ericsson and Kronwall comes back?
-
That's cause the Red Wings are lazy and they suck. They can't even handle a little adversity.

Red Wings grade against the Ducks last night: Datsyuk F Holmstrom F Filppula D Bertuzzi F Eaves F Abdelkader F Miller F Draper F Helm F Maltby F May F Lidstrom F Rafalski F Stuart F Meech F Janik F Lebda F Howard F

Holland needs to sign Beat Forster NOW! Edit: nevermind, Coyotes already drafted him in 2001.
-
Blackhawks have been beating great teams like Minnesota and St. Louis Blues. They've got some big games coming up against the big bad Blue Jackets and the Wild again. So look out, they have a rough & grueling schedule ahead of them! Oh, just checked, they play the almighty Oilers in a few weeks.
-
Kyle Quincey? Didn't he leave like 12 years ago?
-
Kunitz < Maltby ? Also Holmer > Kunitz ?

Does anyone else not care when we get a PP anymore?
Miller Brew replied to FunkedUp's topic in General
I want this team to get all the power plays they can get! Personally, I rather watch a PP than a PK... but that's just me. -
My wife wishes I was Holmer because she thinks he's HAWT. Plus, I wouldn't mind earning $2 million per year while drinking from the cup and partying with the entire team. I should get me a Holmer jersey if he resigns
-
If Wings beat Kings and San Jose, it would make this loss okay by me. Getting Cleary or Zetterberg back will be a HUGE boost for the team.
-
Not really this is a thread about Holmer and if he resigns. So far the consensus is Holmer will resign for $2 million for a 1 year deal. I hope Holland can get Holmer to stay for less than $2 million, more like $1.95.. but since Holmer is a 20-30 goal scorer and a one man demolition crew, it's hard to say what he takes. But Holland needs to resign Holmer! He's an integral part of this team.
