Thats a bit of an unfair assesment. He Had 50 pts in 55 games in SEL and had 3pts in 6 games for phx. He makes up for defensive lapses with his pure offensive talent. This guy is the closest we may ever get to erik karlsson. Gormley is worth too much and he is the reason they can move yandle if they want.
-
Gormley is loved by coyotes fans but they were apparently disappointed in rundblads transition to the na game. Id say rundblad is a raw karlssom who has serious questions in his own end. Gormley is like a yandle pretty much imo. I think we could have rundblad for immediate help up front. Id honestly move franzen straight for rundblad considering we get a lot younger on d and franzen wont hold value much longer.
-
I proposed this 2/3 days ago. Rundblad would be relatively inexpensive and a RH shot. He hasnt been amazing in his time up but i think we should go too young rather than too old. He and smith could be mainstays for years if i pans out.

Thats the point. Its one year so weber is out next season

Problem is that if weber doesnt re-sign with us we lose 4 first rounders for a rental. No thanks. Problem is that if weber doesnt re-sign with us we lose 4 first rounders for a rental. No thanks. However if u offer sheet in a lower salary bracket u dont give up 4 firsts and instead like 1st 2nd 3rd or whatever and if he signs hes put next year when they match and if they dont match we get weber for next to nothing and a chance to sign him.

Just wait till he turns 30 then howson has to rush to move his aging player. Nash is 28 already! Not a young talent anymore. He also is just a star winger not a franchise dman or center. Howson is like a spoiled kid that wont take no for an answer and cant see reason. I dont care if we dont get him but the fact that nobody does is ridiculous especially considering nash wants out.

Could Wings still make a move on Weber this year?
dirtydangles replied to turbowhistle86's topic in General
The value is impossible to determine. Consider nashville needs him as their star player. However, he is an RFA so his value becomes less and its a risk for teams trading that he wont re-sign. Therefore i dont see the preds being able to move him for what they consider fair (like the nash situation) because there are no guaratees for the teams trading for him. All this considered i have no idea what he would cost in a trade. Value would change depending on the risks a want to take on. Holland doesnt take risks. -

I think the pens are reluctant to go long term because malkin will be needing a reup in 2 years and they already committed a lot of cap elsewhere and have good players playing above contracts like letang and despres. We can beat them in length. I just really dont want the pens to have him probably more than i want him.

Read online if wings give weber a lowish offersheet for one year that the preds match it gives him an automatic out to become a ufa. Weber would just have to sign.
-
Can we overpay for semin already and get it over with. We cant afford to not sign him or any new players. We need assets at this point and ufas are free.
-
What a pain in the ass. Cant believe we traded a first for this s***
-
as long as he doesn't have a ntc we are okay giving him 4 years. a team trying to make the cap floor would take him on.
-
if we give him 4 years at a low cap hit we can at least trade him to like dallas or florida at some point. we didn't give up assets for him. cap space isn't going anywhere else at this point.

signed Wings hire Tom Renney as Assistant Coach (3-year contract)

Thats just Cleary being Cleary. -
not as pumped for enstrom. would still cost a lot and is only 5 foot 10 with a LH shot. not ideal. If we are shelling out serious assets we might as well pay a little more and get a guy that really fits well. If it was a bargain I'd trade for enstrom but no way are we sending flip the other way for that guy. I'd do franzen in a package though.

No idea, sorry. Wish I knew more.

lol did you see inspired play out there lately? nobody bought babs' speeches at the end of last season. looked flat with low compete level. There were threads on here saying he had lost his ability to motivate the guys. I didn't say i knew it for fact, but it couldn't hurt. -
Where do we go from here? Let's try a youth movement
dirtydangles replied to Drake_Marcus's topic in General
This thread kinda exists in "Young Guns" but ya, youth movement will be hard with bert and sammy signed for the next two seasons... especially if kenny fills wholes with veteran dmen this offseason. -

yes they do have revenue sharing but the owners of these franchises usually have more than one business to run, you can't expect that all their money goes right back into hockey after they make it. revenue sharing is also bulls*** for upper tier teams but I won't get into that. -

Imo its just experience. Many seasons as a head coach and won silver with team canada on coaching staff. we will wait and see what kenny says. he has more insight. -

Preds borrow from the city of Nashville and from the NHL revenue sharing. They don't disclose how much. But ya, we need to start considering this as an option if the cap goes up 7mill every year. Thats why I think player cap hits should inflate too while protecting the dollars on the contract that the player signed for. That way owners don't have to pay more than they intended. The cost of running a successful hockey team will just keep rising. -

i think this is good because he has the experience to make the players listen to him, and they haven't been really buying babs lately. i feel as though having two rookie assistants last year made our veterans feel comfy. They also had 0 defence and 0 goaltending. so i wouldn't blame him completely. As if Hall, Eberle, Nuge are premier 2 way forwards. Those kids just want to skate forward.
