NHL just tells the refs to try to keep it exciting and even if possible - which means keeping it close. -

Larkin seems to be completely neutralized by physical play. Was getting a lot more space earlier in the season. -

This team is a joke with the lead. -
I like the concept of having our regular penalty killers mostly on a line together (4th line) because that means following a penalty we don't get our lines all shuffled and mess up chemistry. This is why helm should be out of the top 6 imo. Miller - Helm - Glendening. And then use Sheahan a bit too on the pk.

I really think we should be going D in the 1st round if we don't trade our pick in a package for an nhl ready Dman. We have plenty of promising forwards to keep the team home grown. Our D prospects are mostly running out of options soon and we don't have a blue chipper among them. Of course if an amazing forward falls to our pick we would take him but if it comes down to similar value players I take the Dman.

Psychologically it must be tough for the team to play in front of Howard when he consistently loses games. Mrazek rules Howard drools.

This is basically the result of Lidstrom retiring. Ever since he hung them up we haven't had luck closing out games in subsequent seasons. We just don't have that stud on the back end that can control everything. This is a problem for a lot of teams - just a newish problem for us.

Larkin needs to be on the PP1 - he makes things happen. Dats and Richards are redundant together and neither shoots. Z needs to just take shots. Nyqvist and Tatar are our only consistent shooters. -
