They should be trading top picks (if they can't get the type of player they need) for either more picks or the types of players they need. Yakupov was such a dumb pick I can't even describe. If they traded that pick for a solid dman in their prime they would have made out much better. Or if they traded that pick for multiple firsts etc. they could have picked more depth at spots they are weak and had a better chance that some would pan out for them. They also take their players and insert them into the nhl right away which is a huge mistake - that is how one dimensional players are born because they just develop one facet of their game that they are already good at to try to become effective on one level rather than developing everything.

Sheahan can kill penalties along with Z and Dats and I think Legwand is half decent too.

Andersson and Glendening sit. Z - Datsyuk - Nyquist Tatar - Sheahan - Jurco Franzen - Legwand - Alfie Miller - Helm - Abby Weiss sits (maybe babs gives him a chance over Jurco for a few games but he likely won't produce and sits)

The penalty they awarded to MIN then the call off goal against MIN were the first evidence something was up. Every game since there has been something.

Boyes is the exact type of player that would sign a longish deal with the wings and completely disappear. Guy isn't reliable if you look at his career stats.

seriously though... why have we had so many calls against us lately? mick was saying that earlier so I know I'm not the only one who feels it. Seems like since the first MIN game we have been getting shafted by the refs regularly.

I agree. And considering with Z and Dats back along with Abby we won't have any place for Weiss to play unless we send Glendening down and I think Weiss won't be any more effective at this point with no game time for like 2 years. None of the kids should sit with Weiss in and nobody else is even a candidate to sit for Weiss.

If its anyone other than Bert or Andersson babs is high. Andersson can at least PK so Bert SHOULD sit.

This seems to be a trend with our UFA signings that are 30+. It must be the country club atmosphere with guys like Bert, Cleary, Sammy being around and so easy to relate to. The kids work so hard because they compete against each other and rub off on each other.

Smith will continue to grow. He is playing much better lately and still has his moments - but he is young and dmen don't hit their prime until later. Did a great job tonight saving me from pulling my hair out. If that went in everyone would be cursing howard again and the leafs could have tied it after.
